Anyone been up on Mt Adams yet?

Mt-Adams is close to riding to January 15 up buy the Mt. The trail are open to ridding on the west sided. In Trout Lake valley the snow is about 18" to 20"
What snopark has the best access to Adams when the snow is good?

What? What do you mean closed to riding until Jan. 15? How's that? 'Splane it to me Lucy.

The Forest Service has it close due to the Cold Spring Fire. They are worried that a dead snag will fall on you, in that area...That was from a meeting two half mouths ago.
Where would be a good place to hang for a week to peg trips to Adams&Helens. Need to plan some tours and descents.

How is one to know the area is closed? There are no signs up there and the GPNF website says nothing about the mountain being closed. Only that some of the burn area is closed. This is well marked up there for that on both sides of the trail. If you look at the map closure you see the road up to the lava flow is open and you can access the area north of the burn from the lava flow. I also had this confirmed by someone that attended the meeting in Stevenson. Can anyone else confirm the closure? Is just the burn area closed till the 15th?
Does anyone want to go up there tomorrow or Sunday?

wow, deeep...
Rode out of lone butte today, went to four corners and the berry feilds and struggled in balls deep powder.. They groomed it as we were leaving.

hey will, sorry to have missed you at the end of the day.had gone down the road opposite from berry feilds and got to a road that nobody had been down . SO off we go got down into a medow blasting through pow and woops
got into a real good area of woops and STUCK THE TRACK--BAD!!!!!!!!!!!
PUT ABOUT 2 FEET OF THE TRACK BETWEEN THE DRIVER AND LIMITER STRAPS. on the down low took us 2 hours of yank and pull w/sled,man(ladies) power (thank you) .alls good just alittle sore but ready to go .

Yup rode out of Lone Butte today! Epic conditions. First ones out. Fresh groom! NICE! Found alot of untracked powder! Can't wait to go back.

Cold springs fire closure
I was told that the South climb route, as well as the trail up to the chute would be open. The route up the snipes trail would not be.
A friend went up on Saterday, said the lower part of the lava bed was pretty nasty... lots of rocks, everyone in his group tagged a couple. But up by the lunchcounter the riding was awesome, deep powder!
