I have used a Shockwave for several years now. On my RX-1M I was able to easily pull 10,500 to 10,700 while riding the mountain trails. Once I started climbing I was lucky yo hit 9,500 RPM (more like 9,200 - 9,300). It was killing me in the powder.
I put on the Shockwave, lightened up my heavy hitter primary weights and never looked back. Now I still pull 10,500 on the trails but once I start gaining elevation I can now turn in the adjsutment ring (which reduces the helix angle)and allows me to keep my RPMs at 10,500+ while climbing. It makes a world of difference.
In my opinion, it's the best $199 you can spend.
