Anybody switched from allstate?

I should add I am 24 and have a perfect driving record. Also should add I've had had numerous issues with my agent, so there is no "good service" reason for me to stay.

Time to move on Tom. Call an independent agent that represents Safeco or call us directly at 1-800-4-SAFECO. We have good rates in Eastern WA and North Idaho.

Glad some of you have had good luck with Allstate. I haven't!
I had just switched the vehicles to them (got a better rate) and they were pumping me to switch my house, which I didn't (wasn't in my favor, more expensive even with an additional discount for both house and vehicles).
After about a month I got a non renewal notice from Farmers Ins for my house. Called Farmers and asked WTF?
They said since I now had Allstate for the house, they were no longer needed?????
Turns out Allstate signed me up for the house policy, sent it to my mortgage company (info they got from me for a "price qoute"), who notified Farmers that I had other house insurance....................and I never signed a single godd@mn thing with Allstate to insure my house!
Couple days later I get a bill from Allstate for house insureance. Called them, told 'em to pack it in their a$$ and that I had already renewed with Farmers.
They sent me to collection and it wasn't until I had a lawyer call them and threaten a suit that they cleared my non payment record off my credit report.

But it's not just Allstate, they're all CROOKS, just some rob me and some rob YOU!

Similar thing happened to me. My agent was pushing renters insurance real hard, worked up a quote and I told him I wasn't interested at the time. Few months later I get a collection notice from Allstate for non payment on my renters policy. Never signed anything, and the agent took it upon himself to sign me up after I told him I wasn't interested!

All insurance companies represent themselves first, you second. If you stay with any of them too long those rates start creeping up for the "assured customer" It's good to shop around every 3 years. I was with State Farm for about 8 years and my auto rates fell by a third by switching to Farmers. I was with them for over 10 years and my rates fell in half when switching to GEICO. Its time to shop around as I'm likely not getting the best rate again. GEICO uses a third party insurer and my rate for a 2007 Panther is around $ 220.00 per year.
