On my '05 5.9, there was a key cycle trick to check codes... This '07 is also a 5.9, but I forget how to do that....

Cycle the key from the off to run position three times and leave it in the run position on the third time and it should read P (code) you may be able to take the code over to the Turbo Diesel Register and have it decoded by some one there. I have the codes for my 2000 but not sure how they will match up to yours. Hope this helps

you can buy a cheap scan tool from a parts place for under $100. will also give you a book of the code meanings. though most people don't understand what the codes are once they get them haynes sells a book, i think its called obd2 codes and meanings, will run you around $20, has some helpful trouble shooting tech.
