Anybody in the Denver area familiar with doo XP suspension??

I'm getting my 08 XP ready to ride. I haven't ever ridden it, I just bought it last May. I'm pretty sure the rear suspension isn't set up right but I don't know much about suspension set up and what to do to fix a weak suspension. It bottoms out when I sit on it (I'm not that fat, I'm only 220). I don't know if I need a new shock, rebuild, or just increase the psi.

If you know what I'm talking about and would be willing to come take a look at this for me, PM me please.

I am almost the same weight. I called the dealers around the area they told me to take the spanner wrench out of the tool kit and adjust it to 4 and then sit on it. Bounce on it a few times get off and pull up hard on the bumper you should have about a inch or so of sag. The XP rear suspension is suppose to have a little sag to get the ride. I know it sounds wierd and I have thread a little lower about this. But try adjusting it and see what that does. Let us know.

Cheapest fix is to call Toms and ask about his new shock relocation kit.

Changes the geometry of the suspension to the updated version
Plus change the back spring. Hell if you want to just talk about what your options are, he will take the time to talk with you and explain stuff...without ever feeling like he needs to get off the phone.

Best fix is to get the Toms evolution kit plus buy some floats for the front at the same time. He will give you a deal if you get it all at the same time.

That sag is not going to go away without changing the rear spring...big boy spring its referred to..but not sure of the part number.

chit Diz, thats about $2K!! I only paid $4K for the whole sled. I can't spend that much, I need a cheaper fix.

Get the heaviest rated rear springs. Donovan got me mine so try giving his new business a call and see what the part No. is. He put them on his sled too and he certainly isn't 220.

You can also do the relocation of the rear shock. You don't need to buy Tom's kit if you don't wanna spend the coin. There is a thread either here or BCR in the Doo section that tells you how to do it with standard bar stock.

If I can find my pics that I had sent to me, I'll post them.

Diz is talkng about Toms other kit-it's around the $500 mark. I have the Evol Air on my '08 and love it. Well worth the $1,700:face-icon-small-win

Look at this: it is kind of what I mentioned before. Cept that company was just selling the brackets

If you have some tools and a garage, you could build just the bracket really cheap.

If you are like me, the first thing I did was ditch the stock shocks and install better ones. I went with Zero Pros. This was before anybody had come out with a relocation bracket. So no need to buy a suspension or upgrade that includes shocks. I'll prolly do the bracket in a week or two, I'll just grab a piece of stainless stock at work, measure, cut and drill.

I'd have to check but I was told that the new hole is 1.5" back from the original. Since there is a hole in the rail at that location, you need the bracket to be able to relocate the hole. I'll make sure that I have the correct dimension before I drill though.

To clarify, the link shows a bracket for the front of the rear skid. The bracket I am speaking of was posted months ago and it was for the rear shock
