anybody have this happen

was riding on the weekend with a foot and a half of new snow and a meadow of untouched powder. carving was great. just having a good time and spotted a creek to cross, maybe 4 feet deep, but lots of snow in it. lined it up and give it gas. things are going great. hit the far side and hit the bars with my chest. dam kill switch.sled sitting almost vertical and not going to climb out of this. some shovel work and about half an hour and a pull and out she comes. great day after that.

yep, jumping up some snowed over cliffs, and doing some tech climbs in setup snow when wheeling on bumps. I moved my kill switch twice, it was nice, but i just desided to rip out the wires and tape them apart so i just have the kill cord.

I'd say my best one of "those" was when I hit the other side....sled stopped dead, I kept going.....when I gathered my bearings and figured out which way was up, realized I was laying in the snow in my t-shirt and my jacket was still attached to the handlebars :D

Lucky I had another jacket in my pack to ride the rest of the day!

the guys i ride with seemed to have the same trouble someone is always hitting the kill switch at the wrong time not shure who came up with the fix but a girls hair tie fixed the problem one of the ones that they use for pony tails like a fabric covered rubber band ....wrap it around the kill switch a couple times and you will have to use force to push the kill switch........

Heavy rubberbands can be used too. I just got rid of it and went to a teather cord that I don't connect to my body unless rding hard or climbing in case of needing to hop of to talk quickly or whaterver.

kill switch

racers love them, or if you just want to mess with someone. when we raced we would reach over and shut em off, or in a handle bar tangle they could get tripped. the reason alot of guys hit the old kill was that nobody disabled it, just disable it and install a true kill switch you will like that you wont have to worry about the engine kill during a tricky moment.

i used to do it steady with my old 900rmk untill i tied a strap under it and "fixed" it after i almost broke both my wrists once bouncing through a treewell. i only have 200 miles on my new Tapex and i am finally getting brave enough to use the whole throttle and the other day i showed everyone how to copy the exact tradgectory of a lawndart by climbing out of a large creek bank and getting about 6 feet of air and pushing the killswitch with the cuff of my jacket at exactly the wrong time.

i will be ordering a tether switch in the near future and "fixing" this killswitch aswell :)

I ride with motocross style knee\shin pads and they are almost always pressed up against the sled. This takes a lot of stress of your arms when lurching forward and I almost never fall into the kill switch. Plus they're really warm.

Ya mean like this?:D

The short answer... yes. And it never happens at a good time (i.e. it always seems to happen at a bd time).

I've see a few sleds come tumbling down a steep hill due to the kill switch being hit on accident. Guys doing nothing wrong except working their sled to get the most out of a climb and a split second later major $ in damage.
