Anybody Completely Happy With The 16 Axys Over 1000 Miles?

I know these forums are for the most part a place to complain and get advice.

Someone unhappy will tell 20 or 30 people versus, 2 or 3 if they are happy.

I'm a very happy owner of a snow check 15 RMK LE with almost 4000 kilometers. It served me very well, and reliably over almost 3 seasons. I typically trade in around the 4000 kilometer mark, and I've owned a 12 and 13 previous.

My dealer has offered me a very good deal on a holdover 16 Pro RMK 163 and I want to make sure that this first year sled is a good one.

Between the crappy relays which need to be beefed up, the unusual track wear that can be clipped, and some random complaints about RPM fade it's hard to know if I'm being too cautious pulling the trigger.

Should I do it or wait for the snow check options?

If you've been completely happy with your 16 or 17 Axys, then let me know how many miles you've got on it and any concerns you might have. Thanks!

2600 km here on my '16. Sleds running strong, on my 2nd belt and second set of plugs, and 2nd track due to stump lol.

1300 and love my sled. I did have a thermostat go bad which cause the sled to heat up more than I liked. No damage though. I replaced my relays myself. Killer sled!

1250 miles on my 16. Pulled the engine at 700 miles to have it ported. Cylinders look mint inside still. Engine builder said everything was very good even put the old 700 mile pistons and rings back. Happy so far.

I've got 1900 miles on my '16 AXYS. Silber turbo since day one. I love the sled and have ridden the piss out of it. I replaced the pistons at the beginning of the season for preventative measure, the old ones looked perfect. I recently had an exhaust temp sensor go bad. This has been a issue on my prior sleds as well. The mountain bar broke off after a nasty roll over a rocky area. I haven't had any relay issues, and almost all of the parts I have replaced are due to me breaking them. There are things that I'd like to improve on if I were on the engineering team, but I will absolutely buy another.

1200 miles on mine, (knock on wood) zero issues, still pulling 8450 with full slp pipe/can and carls clutch kit all day long. Only issues are the carnage I impose on the sled. Most impressive stock sled I've had to date.!

I am not sure how many miles on my '16 because it was delivered with an inaccurate speedo/odo. Even though it has had a replacement engine installed at about 110 hrs they didn't catch that, or when I brought it back right after the new motor because it wouldn't pull rpm. Told the clutch needs rebuilt on my dime. I have done so, just waiting on a new primary spring. Neither of the dealers I went to had one in stock. Awesome sled on the original motor, just awesome. That is why I kept it a second year. Big mistake. Now I am chasing rpm. It costs $50 a visit plus travel expenses to visit the dealer and parts are normally 10 days out, 7 if you get lucky.

I talked my buddy out of an Axys and into a Cat. He just picked up a sweet '16 all black M8000 LE. He was an Axys buyer after watching and riding my Axys last season. Not so much after the string of issues began in January of this season.

Problem is I have ridden the new Cat and the new Doo and neither of them do what the Polaris does for me handling wise. Neither of them seem to have near the number of issues though. Tough call. I will buy a new sled next fall, just not sure which one anymore.

Boosted 163 at 1300 miles, boosted 163 at 900 miles and pipe mod 155 at 550 miles no issues first belt on boosted sleds blew around 700 miles

1,800 miles, lots of deep snow and big pulls..aka
WOT!
Awesome sled no problems to date other than self inflicted.

Bought a hold over 16 this season. Boosted it after break in. Exhaust sensor was the only issue so far this season, about 500 mi. Sled is simply amazing! In my opinion the Axys is well ahead of most people that ride it. It's going to be a tough one for the mfg's to top.

I've got two 2016's.

2,400 miles: one bad Load Shed Relay, and the clutch has had 2 flat rollers.

1,400 miles: down on RPM last ride and the dash display when out. Thinking it's a bad Load Shed Relay.

Other then that they have both been outstanding :-)

Depends how hard you ride it, I know a lot of them that are slill alive and ripping with 2-3k on them. IMO they are still more reliable then the Pro RMK but if you are running them super hard you have to replace stuff if you want them to run in tip top shape. I know at 1400 miles on mine, im through 6 belts, a set of clutch springs, about do for new bushings in my weights as well as some new motor mounts as they start getting loose and low rpm arises. And this sled comes inside a heated shop, clutches blown out and sheaves scrubbed almost every ride, skid greased etc etc.

If you were getting that kinda milage out of a pro then the AXYS will do nothing but please you though.

Quick tip for relays. undo the tap and flip them upside down so the plugs dont fill with water and corrode. I have seen a bunch of them that the relay is fine, just bad connection.
