Any welders out there???

I really don't know much about it but the research I have done on welding says that using different wire can greatly effect the welds. Certain wire is designed to be ran vertical, etc.
 
for vertical mig you could try the weave [left to right] hold it on left for a splitsec. and go fast to right and hold for splitsec, and so forth. if you still have the puddle,[ build up in the middle] you need to go a little faster[no middle hesitation] do not slow down for the middle. and also you can drag it up the sides for a split sec also . its hard to explain [ben a certified state structural welder for 20 + years], i could show you in 30 secs. hope this helps. chris. but it sounds like in your description it is a heat issue, to hot, amps should be for that thickness around 115. for vertical.
