Any track issues (lots of fraying)?

We torched all of the frays from my friend track? Lots of them. Then one ride later they were even longer fray pieces. Not a big deal just wondering if anyone else has this going on.

Are your tracks centered in the tunnel and not rubbing on the sides...

The distance from the side of the track to the side of the tunnel should be the same on both sides.

if you look at the tunnel right behind the chaincase, there is a rivit that hangs out into the tunnel far enough for the track to rub on it....I just used a hammer and dolly to flatten it out so the track cant rub on it.......

Lots of frays here with no rubbing. I've seen it to some degree on all my sleds. Torch & repeat. It eventually calms down, both the track fraying and me caring about it.

Hey! Want an easy fix. :face-icon-small-hap If you pass your finger lightly on your rear suspension brackets you will notice they are very sharp. What I have done to these is to file the edges round so they have less chance on catching the track when you do donuts on either side, or crooked landing will also do this. Was supposed to install some flat washers to spread tunnel a bit but never got to it yet. Seems to be working for me fraying looks to be very minimal.

Lots of fraying here too, I've checked alignment multiple times, might try the filing the drop brackets next.

I heard the discovery of this mentioned by the dealer when I was picking up my sled...pretty sure you hit it right on AKSNORIDER

FYI Also New track.. Yes.. strings. come out..

Easy Fix.

Used a small torch and burn them off.

The outside and the middle ones too.

Plus.. Less Weight.. Snow and ice chunks CAN'T Start.. freezing to the track. aka More weight.

My 2 Cents

My buddy has an '08 Doo XP that does it too. He's the one who showed me how to burn them off. :-) Since they seem to be happening on every exposed track edge (on mine at least), including the inside of the windows, I have to think it is one of those "just the way it works" situations, not rubbing anything.

thanks a lot for all the info guys. I will flatten that rivet and smooth out the edges of the drop brackets.

Buddies new 09 XP had all sorts of track fraying, I bought a 10 M8 last year that frayed like crazy, and now my 11 Pro does it too. I don't even burn them off.

It seems that they put the cords too close to the edges of windows and track edges. I guess this is what we get for lighter tracks? They need a little thicker rubber edge to seal up the cords. No big deal it is just breaking in.
