I got a new sled and some lower bars for it and would like to keep the stock grips and heaters and put them on the new bars. Does anyone have any tips or tricks to keeping them intact and re-applying them?

Use a blow gun for the grips and for the heating elements use a heat gun but go slow when removing it as it wants to come apart. To put the elements back on use electrical tape and tape it up . Blow the grip back on and your done.

When I'm taking off the grips I use compressed air.. Just get the nozzle under the rubber and twist it round at the same time =)
Use the same procedure when installing..
For the heat elements you have to use a heat gun and og slow..

And while you're at it, put some corks on before you put your hand warmers back on. Makes a big diff.

Wrap the bars in cork as stated above. Your hand Warmer's will actually work.

Ski doo makes a very thin cork with adhesive backing that is perfect for under the grips. ~$3 per side. Definitely a must with the aluminum RSI bars on cold days.

Do you just fill then with the spray foam? I've never had an issue with the heaters being too cold. I actually have a problem with finding light enough gloves that are still waterproof.

Those of you that ore corking them, are you putting the cork between the bars an element or element and grips?

So the cork wrap doesn't add noticeably to the O.D.? Great recommendation by the way...

They are a little thicker yes, but I don't notice it when riding. My RSI grips fit snug over them. Just needed compressed air to get them on. They are also thin enough not to hinder the throttle in any negative way.

Definatly a noticable thickness difference, even with the thin Doo cork kit. I actuallly like the thicker grips, I feel I get a better grip with gloves on. Amazing difference in heat out put.
