Any Problems after new engine 2007 800R?

Well, 360miles on my 2007 800R 151 and it went down. Engine seized, and I am assuming it was the crank bearings. Good news is that we hit that awsome snow in Revy a week or two ago, and I think that helped pinch off the crank....and that it's still under warrenty!

It is heading in to the dealer tomorrow and I am hoping for the updated 2008 engine. My question is if anyone has been having troubles after they get the updated engine with new crank bearing tolerances etc.???

Everyone posts their failures on here, but I haven't heard much after they get the new engine...hope this is a good thing.

Thanks.

was that you on the blue / black adrenaline getting towed out of Bolder on Thursday morning?

i am starting to wonder about the 07 engines. I just put in a warranty claim for a new short block. Rod went through the case and totalled the engine.

I hope the updated engine has less problems than the 07 They seem to have pretty catastrophic failures.

No, mine is white/black...but I was getting pulled out the same day....we also had a turbo yammie heli'd out that day as well (chaincase).

I hope the updated engine has better luck. I haven't heard too much noise on snowest regarding problems after the updated engine....but we will have to see what feedback we get on this thread.

My 07 xrs got 100 miles on the first engine, crank went, then it went 600 more miles and lost the crank again. Don't have anything good to say yet. Other than poor stock clutching and bad engines it is a really good sled.

Starky,

I am wondering the same thing. I got 850 miles out of my XRS and last weekend bam, piston and crank at one time.......... I hope that there are some good stories out there. If not I guess I will quit packing water when I ride and just stock up on :beer;:beer;:beer;

I have 07 159 xrs 1100k on the first crank Then first ride in the renshaw at 7k
the second crank went it was a long walk back to the truck and i was riding with 3 other guys nice hu. Got it back with a short block so we will see this time.

720 miles on first motor last year and just blew the crank on the new motor with a 1000 miles on it on New Years eve. Looked inside and can see lots of antifreeze.

Just heard back from the dealer and it sounds like I will be getting a whole new motor. Here was the list of parts that blew: Pistons and rings, both cylinders, crank bearings, crank, both cases…and he stopped there cuz he said there isn’t anything left. Boy I sure hope they saved the muffler bearing…lol!

Anyway, they are assuring my that there won’t be any problems with the new specs. He said they did have some early rebuilds go…but that was before they had all the problems/updates done…like 08 bearing clearances etc. Can someone chime in if they have had a different experience?

Also, what was the turnaround on your engine rebuild? I dropped mine off Jan 3rd, and he said the new engine wont even be in until the 24th...so it could be as long as Jan 28th. Doesn't 25 days seem a little long? Sure kills alot of riding days...better not happen again!

lost the crank at 120 miles. Replaced with a short block. then lost the crank again at 700 miles. two engines in 700 miles......come on ski-doo, i have had belts last me that long before. well until this year!!
