Any one else have REALLY bad hay feaver?

i have it BAD! i bust out in hives(sp?), eyes almost swel shut, very itchy eyes, face sometimes swell up, sneeze every 2 seconds and am just plain miserable...and the crappy thing is i work outside all summer long with the stuff that casuses it and for 2 months straight im bailing hay....hay and hay feaver dont go together well lol! if i inhale alot of dust from hay my trachea will swell up like asthma and i cant breath worth a crap. so who here is in the same boat as me? i use to eat benedryl like candy but now i get a shot every summer and that crap is amazing! finally got sick of fighting it so im finally getting one today....and i HATE needles!
 
I've got it pretty bad. Itchy eyes, sneezing, runny nose, the whole bit. That shot is awesome.
 
i just went and got one and its already working....THANK GOD!!!!! is it just me or does sumthin look kinda fishy here?...^^^^ we are all within a 100 mile radius....choteau, cut bank, and simms and we all have really bad allergies....must be sumthin in the water lol!
 
It's funny you would mention that. I'm pretty much the only person I know with allergies.
 
lol really? i know alot of people with them. my boss used to have to get shots all the time and some of my friends do too. or it could be something i picked up when i lived down south during the wee years of my life lol. god i need to get off here and go to work lol.
 
lucky bassturds i tried the shot and it didn't work for me. I got hay fever bad, eyes swell shut and my throat isn't far behind it. it seems like i have to change meds every year because the same stuff that worked before won't work the next year. too bad i make my living with hay and grains lol
 
I have horrible allergies, about the only thing I am not allergic to are dogs and horses. I get three allergy shots twice a week. It started as hay fever as a kid, as I got older I started getting sinus infections and the pain would never go away. I also have food allergies, and things most people take for granted is a big no no for me. I am allergic to wheat, eggs, soy, peanuts, and tomatoes. Eating out is a big treat for me, though I can only have a few things. Fast food is not a word in my vocabulary, because they all use processed foods which have the ingredients I am allergic to.

I have done a lot of research and have learned that there is double the pollen in the air today than 100 years ago. Then with our easy living lifestyle in this country can cause food allergies because everything is processed now. You then throw in all of the medications that our out there. They may be used to treat one thing, but the repurcussions from the trouble they cause are not worth it. I always think that I was born about 100 or 200 years to late.
 
that sucks Snow Fox, food and everything huh? you sound like my god son. At least I stop at just hay fever and minor reactions to bee stings(just keep away from my neck) but thats what epi pens are for.
 
Not until I found out about my allergies, I did not know what it was like to feel good. I just thought that was life and I was supposed to feel bad especially after I ate. Now that I am on this strict diet, it is nice to know how it feels to feel good.
I really feel for people with terminal illnesses that do not know what it is like to go through life feeling 100%. My problem is more of just an inconvenience from having an overactive immune system, my body attacks anything that it thinks is attacking it. This then causes the repurcussions from the allergies. On a postive note, with such an overactive immune system I rarely catch a cold or the flu. Like I said it is an anthill compared to some of the mountains some people suffer through. The sorry thing is with modern technology, medicine, etc....it is only going to get worse.
 
welll said snow fox. and crap! i thought i had it kinda crappy...sounds like you have your hands full with your diet!

ya i hope this shot is actually working...i know how ya feel about the whole medication thing. i have taken claritain, zertech, benedryl and all the others and they work OK for about a week and they they quit so i hope this shot is actually goign to work as well as it did last year!
 
one of the neighbors daughters had allergies bad growin up, she brought us sandwhiches once while we were combining and she swelled up before she got back to the house, must really suck
 
ha ha ya and chaff really makes it bad too lol. i rode in a combine with my x gf's dad and i thought i was going to die after about the first 30 seconds i was there! lol
 
I'm a wheat farmer that is alergic to dust and grasses. Great combo huh? I've been using flonase for about 10 years and don't have a problem. It's a slight steroid but I don't think that's why the six pack went to a keg:beer;
It's been great for me, ask your doc about it.
 
I thought mine was bad till I read this thread, holy crap!

I use Reactine almost daily during the spring/fall and whenever required. I'm allergic to dust, mold, some perfumes, insence, all kinds of weird smells. I can't walk through Sears perfume section without needing some meds.
