Any ideas?

I have tried 10-62's and 10-60's in the primary with BLK and BLK/PUR in the secondary with delrin. With all of these variations, I am unable to pull more than 7700rpm in the deep stuff, it's a TURD. It bounces all over from 7300-7700 when riding in the deep stuff around 9-11k. On the trail it will pull 7900-8000 but it is not instantaneous, it is real slow getting there. F-Bomb has already told me to check the exhaust temp sensor. From searching on here, I have found that I should probably check my primary spring. Has anyone else had these issues? Any other recommendations on what to check?

Thanks

Mark your clutches to check for full shift

A few ideas anyways.

riding that high..I would pull some finish angle on the helix...I would go to a 58/38/.36 or so helix..that should get the rpm up, greatly help backshift(the rpm flutter you are seeing)and help the belts run cooler..also, pull both clutches, inspect for loose bushings, rollers, and clean them really good..also how old is the belt(an old belt wont pull rpm that a new belt will), check alignment, c-c distance and deflection....

still look close..have seen them eat rollers or a bushing before..also, check the powervalves, have seen some stuck solid in less then 300 miles...

and go to 19/43 gearing for that high up in powder. try slp green/pink primary spring as well...I clutched my friends like this 10-60, 19/43 gear, green/pink primary, blank/purple secondary spring w/3 delrins, 56/38 .36 helix, 8250-8300 at 7-8000 ft

I'm pretty set on what I'm going to do clutching wise with my setup. I'm going to go with F-Bomb's recommendation with my head and install Carls clutching. But I want to figure out what my issue is with it running like a turd and not pulling rpm's on stock clutching setup. I hope it is a spring, I'll report back tonight when I check.

Just a thought from an amateur. 10-58s
If you figure it out let us know!

That's going low on the weights. I ride 9k-11k with 62 weights blue/pink SLP and the same PA head. I can get 8,100RPM's. I'm going to drop down to 60's and see where that puts me.

I really doubt you need 58's though. I'd seriously try a new primary spring as others have mentioned. Do you run your ethanol plug or your non-ethanol plug?

I run 10-58's with the orange team spring in my assault. Pulls about 8250 in the deep stuff. Most guys I know run the same setup.

Primary spring is not broken. I checked the exhaust temp sensor with ohm meter and im pretty sure it is good.

I also checked the rollers, and they move freely. The weights are moving freely too. The belt did seem to be a little glazed, if that's the right term, don't know if thats normal??

remove the clutch spring, reinstall the cover, and see how the moveable clutch slides on the fixed part. Just something to maybe check. Some will bind up with bad bushings...

Ok, I will give this a try tonight.

Installed the cover minus the spring, and it moves very smooth and easy on the shaft. I did notice that my spring has been rubbing and has grooves in the cup where it sits.

I forgot to mention that I did have HOT clutches last weekend when riding. I had never felt them before last weekend, so I don't know what they were like previously.
