Any handling difference between 08 and 09 M1000?

I'm looking at an M1000 and either buying with, or putting a twisted turbo on it.

What are the major diffences between the 2? Do they both handle the same? I really like the way 09 1000 handles, don't/won't sacrifice that for a 08 if they aren't the same.

Thanks

I would think the handling feel would be the same, but the 09 is like 20 or so lbs lighter, and the rear suspension is upgraded from the 08. Plus the telescoping bars on the 09 are sweet I hear.

The two sleds WILL have some handling differences.

The PowerClaw track and the rear of tunnel/runner boards will change the feel of the sled. Not to mention the 15-20#s difference between the two.

Go with the '09 for sure! The stock '08 Challenger track SUCKS compared to the PowerClaw!

I was going to buy a hold over '08 until I realized it would cost me about the same as the '09 by time you update it. Here is what you have to do:

--Change track
--Replace diamond drive gears
--Rear tunnel extension

And after that, you still dont have the electronic reverse and its weight savings. And you still have a sled that is a year older.

Gearcase without reverse is still a piece of crap, seen many go this winter, 08 is upgradeable to electronic reverse. Shorter tunnel on 09 is a bad idea in my opinion and adding the 09 foot stirrups is an easy mod. Weight savings was mostly in the drive and the Diamond Lite is still the stronger more reliable setup for 08 and 09 sleds. Steering post was only on Sno-Pro and can fit either year. If you are going to leave it stock, go for the 09, for a mod use the savings and go for the 08.
