Any first hand experience with Motorfist Redline boots ?

Sent in my Stompers for warranty a while ago (they leaked)

Was told that I can get the new Stomper 2.0s as replacement which I was excited about as the stompers were on the cold side.

Now the 2.0s have been delayed a few times and I won't get it till December... I was then given the option to get the redlines instead.

Can't find a local shop around who carries them, and would like to try them on before getting a set...

Are they too stiff to drive in? do they compare to a snowboard boot?

I often have cold feet so the extra warmth is a welcome option .. I also hated the laces as I came from a snowboard boot with BOA on it and didn't actually mind the stiffness on the snowboard boot all that much... But it sure is nice to put on your boots at home and drive to the trailhead with them.

Anyways, any first hand experience with the redlines is welcome

Thanks

I tried the Motorfist Redlines and sent them back. Great boot minus the velcro strap at the top. Should have put another buckle there. Every leaning step forward and the velcro just breaks loose. Maybe my size 12 foot and chicken legs just don't work with it. If I had thicker calves the velcro strap might work better and not break loose.

The Redline boots are big fyi. You are not gonna want to drive in them, but they are so easy to take off that it's not much of an issue if you got shoes in the truck. Bigger than my snowboard boots. Very clean build though and have a loop for your pant gaiter. Buckles on them lock into place. Very warm.

I'm waiting on the Stomper 2.0's. They also have 200g more insulation in them over the original stompers.

I rear ended a guy wearing my stompers. When i pivoted my foot to the brake like i Normally do i hit the brake and then also hit the gas. I did a brake torque right into him. No damage other than some scuffing. Did it again later but no rear ending. Last time i wore them driving ever.

Gonna be hard to get any real world experience from people as of yet. The boot is BRAND NEW this year, so unless people have snuck out and got a few miles on them, most will be opinion based on seeing them or trying them on in a store. With it just now starting to snow in most places, reviews should start flowing in. Anybody who got to ride the redline last year, was a prototype and this years boot is nothing like the proto.

With that said it has been a great seller for us, and people seemed to like them at the shows so far. They are a bit bigger than the stomper 2.0's but they are still smaller than other boots out there. The quick adjust buckles seem to be the kicker for people that either makes them purchase or go to another option. Some do not like having buckles because they could break and you would be SOL, and some people want the ease of buckles. It's a toss up really. As for insulation, the Redline is a 1200Gram boot so you will not be chilly in them, but like said above the Stomper 2.0 is now a 800 gram boot over its predecessor the 600 gram version. You will be happy with either, more or less depends on if you need the thicker insulation. And we have both in stock. Only a small run of the Stomper 2.0's right now as the rest of the shipment will be here in December, but we do have them!

REDLINE BOOT

yeah it's a tough call .. if i didn't have to wait till december i'd get the stomper 2.0s for sure...

a little warmer than the originals and smaller soles are both awesome upgrades

at the same time, redlines are even warmer, have buckles and not having to wait for another month to get boots might be the kicker

SideWaysInto3rd what size are you??

WOW, apparently a few people have read this thread, just sold two more pairs of our first size run. Now sitting on just a couple of pairs until our order of a hundred shows up next!

Nines are gone at this point, we have a 13 and 14 still.

goddamnit !!! lol

Just got off the phone with my MF Rep, Tait, and looks like first of December is still going to be the earliest we receive the next shipment. If we for some reason get another size run at the Spokane show this weekend, or the Boise there after we will put a set aside for you!

I got mine in the mail Monday.

Tried them on.

They are stiffer. Remind me of snowboard boots, but not THAT stiff.

They are EASY to get on and off. Easier than the Stompers.

I liked my Stompers because I could walk around in them.
The Redlines are not as flexible. More "LIKE" a rigid boot.

Gonna go for an ATV ride on Sunday and test them out.
Will report back.

Just go jump back and forth on your sled in the garage for an hour and make sled noises, that will be more indicative of how they feel and fit while riding on a sled.

Nothing on an ATV will really show you how they will work in the snow, other than if they are warm, but then again your boots are on either side of the motor on a quad so even that will be skewed.

But we look forward to hearing some feedback and pictures!!

For sure...but I also want to see how warm they are.
How thick of socks shall I plan to use for sledding season...
Ease of use while gearing up...and with shin guards.

BTW....

Mark my words. There will be problems with the ratcheting part of the straps. They will either unbuckle from bumping into things or they will break. I bought a pair and have already returned them. But I'm sure opinions will very. I think the boot is cool, but I think the buckle is gonna cause problems.

How much ankle support do the stomper's have? I've been wearing hmk pro boa's and love how rigid they are but I really like the idea of a slimmer boat

I just got mine yesterday, they are stiff, but not to stiff. They are extremely comfortable. I ordered a size up (I wear 13 and ordered 14), and they me perfect. They also come with inserts that you can put in if they are a little to big.

The reason I bought them is because of the straps and easiness of taking them in and off. And I couldn't be happier with how easy they are to take off and put on. The design seems well thought out and are quick and easy. They are well built and I personally think they will hold up just fine. To say they won't is premature and speculative imo. I'm excited to try them out.

First ride

Got my first ride of the year in yesterday. Boots were stiff but loosened up at the end of day. Extremely comfortable, was 2 F at the pulloff when we got there. feet never got cold. At the end of theday feet were warm and dry, only problem was the straps tore a hole in my seat frome going side to side and the exta strap hanging out the bucle broke off. Dont know what I will be doing now. Fred

PS some pics of yesterday
