Any difference in the 2 different looking -166 belts

Some claim the white doesn't last as long. Never had a white one myself.

If the numbers are the same they are the same belt i think. The best thing to do is ask a DOO dealer or mechanic. always ask someone who knows the DOO's.

they are made by two different mfgs. Stay away from the white lettering. The tolerances vary and some are already at the min. width for wear. You'll see dealer selling them for cheap on ebay all the time.

yes. They are made by two different places. The orange lettering ones are older. the white lettering ones are the new ones.
The orange lettering ones are better and wider. The white lettering ones are narrower and do not last nearly as long.
The 166 belts should only be used on the rev. They should not be used on the xp. Only use the 377 belt on the xp or the carlisle xs803 is good also.

I had issues with 166 belts. I had my rev dialed in nice with a couple older 166 orange letter belts. Broke in a couple new ones and then tried running them, they ran like crap compared to my old ones. I never solved the problem.

No reason to use either

There is no reason to use either 166 belt. I ran the 377 belt on my 05 Summit 800 151 with NO problems. On my XP I have run the 377 and now the 383. The 383 is cheaper to buy and works very well me.

I really want to run the 383's. I ran a 377 for 100 miles with no probs. Took it off to break in some 383's and after 70 miles a cord on the outside of the belt started to come out. I did break it in properly. Then I smashed a huge rock and I have to change my s and e module and re-align everything. I bet the clutches were out of line. I should get warranty on that belt as far as I'm concerned. What do you guys think.
