Any Colorado Springs riders going Friday 12-31-10

Itsallgood,

Chaos here. Checked out Cottonwood the same day but decided to continue north. I did drive all the way to the second parking lot, barely! Spent the evening with friends in Leadville and rode early the next day. If you draw a line between Fairplay and Leadville, we hit the peaks located in between. Not the best there either, yet. All 4 of us dealt with land mines throughout the day. I got tossed pretty good one time but everything survived except my pack, tore the shoulder straps off on landing; overhand knot works better than those dang plastic clips ever did...:face-icon-small-hap

Hitting Vail this weekend.

Safe riding.

So Chaos what where you riding? There were a couple guys from the springs who helped dig out my cousin (riding a 800 edge 144”) a couple times. Cool dudes … one riding a blacked out M7 w/ a dragon image on the hood & the other riding a Doo. Meant to get their info before we left but missed them.

Itsallgood,

I am riding a 08 XP, wife rides an 04 MXZ. We have only been sledding a few years in Colorado but go as often as we can. You'll find a lot of good COS folks at Cottonwood, closest place for halfway descent riding. I have personally met several great folks helping them dig out up on the pass.

Anyway, speaking of digging folks out, interesting story. When we were coming down the mountain up near leadville that weekend, we ran into a couple of ladies who ventured too far with their pickup. Anyway, they were stuck real well and weren't going to get out on their own. The four of us (my wife and two other guys) couldn't leave them there so we dug a bit, hooked up a snowbunjie to one sled, and the rest of us pushed, and pushed... We did get them out and back to safe road. I have never seen a snowbunjie strected that far...:face-icon-small-sho, and it did not break.

They were there to go snow-shoeing. Interesting to note that less than five minutes before we showed up, a group of 6 CC skiers came by them and come to find out, they simply asked the driver and passenger to close their truck door so they could get by. Not one offer to help... Snowmobilers +1, CC skiers -10... How can you ever leave someone stranded in the mountains, unbelievable.

Anyway, safe riding and have fun.

Chaos
