anti stab wheels?

I see some cat guys are running anti stab wheels? When are these needed?

3 pitch tracks and suspension changes like the Geo mod. I have done the Geo mod, when riding firm snow then hitting powder, you can feel the suspension expand and the anti-stabs start working. KSH

so they probably aren't necessary on a stock sled. I'm just putting a pclaw on a crossfire.

2.52 OR 3P Drivers? They are cheap insurance for a $600.00 track. Many miles have been put on with out anti-stabs, but all it takes is one dead fall branch to ruin your trip. KSH

Try telling that to my buddy that speared his Power Claw on an 09 CF.

Thousand bucks for the track, and about $400 more for the rails...

I'm dropping the $80 for the anti-stabs.

you can make your own 2" wheels from western power and a trip to home depot for the aluminum shaft and the outer just use aluminum tube. about 40 bucks. and you will have leftover to sell to your buddies :face-icon-small-hap

Limiters lengthened all the way out, a little on the loose side with track tension. All it takes is just the right bump in the terrain. BAM!

$1400 bucks worth of toasted parts and two weeks of wasted riding season waiting on parts.

These single-ply tracks stretch a lot already, and the looser you run them without ratcheting, the better they work.

The anti-stab kit is a MUST IMO. For $80 bucks and 5 min worth of work to install it's easy math.

My brother hit a tree laying under the snow on the 7th ride on his new 174x16 and stabbed the track and bent the slide rails and other suspension components. Luckily his insurance covered it but I wouldn't ride without anti stabs anymore because we were a long ways from the parking lot and it was kind of chore getting the sled back there.

I took a crossfire and put 3.0 pitch track on and stabbed through. Now i have anti-stab wheels on 1500 miles no problem. Good insurance worth 80 dollars.
