anti-ratchets/extroverts

I read a post a while ago that there is guys runnin anti ratchets with out runnin fully clipped track anyone doin this let me know how it is working
I've always been told to run fully clipped and anti stab kit so to not roll track over top rails. lot less work when runnin a series iv.

I have been running a series iv with anti racheet extros on two sleds for a couple years now. I know many others here doing the same. Just take a hole saw and punch out the closed windows and you are good to go. I ran for a year and a half with no anti stab kit and got away with it with no issues. I did however break down this year and put one on each sled just for cheap insurance against spearing a track.

I put exoverts on my 600 RMK. I had to window the track of course but did not clip it and it worked fine. My down fall however was I did not put on the antistab kit, BIG MISTAKE!! I ended up stabing the track and it ended up being a $1200.00 dollar touch in parts and I did the work myself. So I highly recomend you use the antistab kit as the suspension rails have to be shortened to make room to put the extroverts on you sled. As well if you have no issues with ratching don't even spend the money on this... There is no gain other then being able to run your track a little looser to hopefully gain a little horse power. I found no noticeable hp gain by running the track looser.

Cheers
Pat

thanx for the info anti stab kit and open windows a must. I am just tryin to get out of doin the clips the extros probably spin off clips smoother but also add some minimal rotating weight. gotta run anti ratchet on a 2.4" series iv if you've got any horses cause on a hard pull it'll get ya. no comparison between the 2" and the 2.4" :D
