another top end after 300 miles?

Hey guys was ridin fri and started to hear a noise, wasnt real loud just kinda like a rattle, only heard it at 3/4 to full throttle. I thought it might be the stator bolts that had came loose and were hitting the back of the flywheel(recently changed the stator) sounded like it was coming from behind the recoil. Sled went down and had to get towed back.I pulled the y pipe off to check the pistons and the mag side looked like it chewed somethin up. I jus had a top end done less than 300 hundred miles ago because the same side went down last year. Coincidence or just bad luck? I pulled the engine yesterday and will tear into it today.Anything to look for when i pull it apart that could tell me what happened?

If the same side has gone down twice then there is definitely a problem that you have not found.... possibly an air leak? Check Throttle body boots for cracks, crank seals, possibly a plugged injector? Was the fuel filter changed @ rebuild time? Are you using plenty of oil - check rod bearings on the crank for smooth operation also.

My sled did the same thing we found the oiler cable was sticking nd half the time wasent oiling we did three head sets befor finding it then I bought sled and found that cable nfg

Weird. Just throwing this out there, make sure your intake isn't sucking in snow dust.

Got it apart its pretty ugly, not sure what the piston chewed up both rings on the piston were fine piston had a crack down the one side, also looked like the rod where it connects to the crank got hot,the bearing had so much slop that the rod cracked the bottom case as the crank spun(you would think polaris would leave a little room just in case that happened)so now need a bottom case.Has anyone ever had a problem with something rubbing through the bottom of the case on the back of the engine? I had something rub through the case causing a small crack, could this be why i lost the motor?
