Another temp probe wire cross question.

I recently posted a question about crossing the wires on the temp probe when installing the SLP pipe. I may not have my terminology correct. The wires that are in question are the wires going to the probe on the pipe itself. If by chance we are all on the same page then from what I am hearing my 08 should have a resistor on this wire. If there is one should I remove it. One more question is if all updates have been done would the dealer possibly removed it? Sorry for the mix up, I really do appreciate all the expertise on this website.

Originally the SLP single for the '08 had a resistor you were to put in the exhaust probe sensor line. It was for sure needed at lower altitudes, most guys at higher altitudes (over say 5k feet) found the sled ran better without it in. Then mid season of '08 Polaris reflashed the '08s and generally everyone stopped running it.

When the '09 came out SLP didn't require it at all. Now that the '08s and '09s have been updated to the recall spec neither one will require the resistor.

I have no guess what your dealer may have done... it seems that every dealer is different in what they do or don't know about these sleds and the mods that go with them.
