Another potential XP convert

Insurance company's deal. If it weren't insurance, I'd be buying an E & S module and throwing it back together myself for a much smaller chunk of change, but since it's insured, it'll probably get totalled and auctioned.

Ask your insurance company for a buy back price.
Most will put a price on it and take it off your settlement.
Depends on how they work whether it will be a good price.

I just lost an XP to a tree as well and am looking to trade out to a Polaris. After borrowing a buddy's IQ chassis, I really had my eyes opened to how easy (and fun) sidehilling can be - and the new Pro is supposed to out-perform the IQ. I have run across a few guys on the hill that had Pro's - but they wouldn't give them up for a test ride! I lucked out and my local dealership had a 163 Pro as a demo,so that is what I am getting. Haven't taken delivery yet, but I can't wait.

In my opinion, unless you are routinely launching drops of 10 feet or more onto flat hardpack, the stock suspension on the Pro will be fine. It is easlily tunable - and with the price difference, you can still upgrade (fox) later for less money. We jump (small) cornices and drops all the time, and even with the stock suspension on my '08 XP, with decent powder to land in - there wasn't any problem.

My insurance company did not give me the "buy-back" figure yet, but I am seriously considering it.

Good luck, man!

Shocks are adequate and much better than the old WE's on the Dragons, but they do bottom out too easily. They can be adjusted and can also be re-valved by Holz, Carl's, etc.

I recently rented a Pro 163 and thought it rode like a brick, especially the front end. The rental company had the springs tighened all the way but I do weigh 300 lbs. and was suprised at the stiff ride. Even after backing off the springs it was still pretty stiff.

What are you doing that it bottoms out easily?

Can i just ask where the M8 stacks up? I have a snopro 162 and really like it....I rode a pro that a friend of mine has in some fresh snow and it did seem flikkable, but in the hills i liked how the M8 climbed and sidehilled a little better...Just asking what you guys think is all...

I have a 10 sno pro 153 and I'm in love with the pro. I'm selling both my cats to get new pros. I'm leaning towards the pro not the assault and putting some
Fox evols on. But I may get an assault who knows. Make my deision once I see them in person next week. The assault is not hard to tip at all. And I think it's more flickable then the m series. You'll be a lot more happy with a pro over your m. I love my m but it's time for something new. That 4 yr warranty sounds nice also:)

You could get super lucky and the ins. co. won't total it and they will give you a fat check and you can fix it on the cheap. Mine just gave me a check for over 10k and I'll fix it for 1,500. Enough left over for me to justify keeping the doo and buying a pro w/ boost :) Can't wait to see which sled I like better.

Good deal!! sounds like you could use some luck after the grief you had with your Dragon (though it sounds like you had some more grief with the Doo). Hopefully the new Pro will make up for it.

Just riding hard. I'm not sure how that rental sled was setup, but that doesn't sound like any Pro I have ridden (I've ridden four of them). I now have the Exit X1's on front and will have the Exit or Fox kit on the back.
