Another Polaris "this changes everything"?

The 11' Polaris sleds are EPIC. New chassis, new motor, new everything. They will make the dragons feel like dinosaurs. Just wait till you see the specs. I know, I know, we've heard this all before. I've been a loyal Polaris rider since the xlt era and have managed to dodge some bullets (900's, dragon 800 pistons etc) I'm telling you though these new sleds rock! Couple more days...

lol. that's HOW it works. they stick it in a trail sled and put a zillion miles on it like the 600 e tek then it goes in a mountain sled next year. look at the Doo site. there it is. 800 e tek. it WILL be in mountain sleds for next season. you ever meet a mountain guy who wants to buy a sled this late in the season? rarely.

and Duner... GFYS! ;) lol

I won't be buying one for a year anyways, I'm gonna let the others be the test dummies. Then, once it's dialed, the turbos and other mods are designed and built, I'll buy one.

Rock, Duner, don't make up your mind yet.

I've got the '09 M8 and the 08 XP Summit X that I've just put the '10 skid upgrade in..

... and a bad back...

let me ride them both a little more this month and then talk about what stays un-stuck, how well the new XP skid sidehills, etc.. before the skid upgrade the XP rode the mogels better and worked deep powder better then the M8... but the cat was easier on the throttle (fuel injection) and easier to sidehill...

Sorry, I can't comment on the Poo... BTW - on Doo-Talk their saying the new ETEC 800 has more HP then the new Cat motor but won't be as easy to turbocharge..

Oh.. and Rock.. on the no yanking comment (without what Duner said)..

Electric start... got it on Tinks sled and I'm never going to go without it again... the 8 pounds are more then worth it!!!

thanks Chief. I agree and the New Doo 800 etec is elec start. I will never yank again. I'll leave the yanking to Duner. what ever I have will be elec start. my bro bought a 2010 600 e tec renegade and says the throttle is the easiest he's ever felt.

look fwd to seeing what Poo has up their sleeve too

From what we know now the Cat chassis and the Doo chassis aren't going to change. We'll be able to have a good idea how those sleds handle and the way a "bad-back" rider works with them.

If Poo is coming out with a new chassis and skid it's really a gamble for someone like me.. how much does it kick in the rough? Do I twist a lot at the waist when I run across a mogul or old track in the powder? Does it jerk me around?

Power is leveling out again at about 160 HP.. Cat's there now and both Doo and Poo indicate they'll be there in 2011.. All are putting sleds less the 500 pounds... face it, it's not the sled weight anymore but how we ride and how much we and our stuff weigh.. I'm 230 lbs.. add Klim gear and avy pack and I'm at least 260 lbs without rescue equipment, lunch and liquids.. add 18 lbs for 3 gal of gas... get the picture.. 440 Lb sled (dry), 60 lbs of gas, and 300 lbs of me and stuff... The sled better have the power to pull 800 lbs through the snow and enough track to float the whole dang thing.. and not hurt us when we're not doing stupid stuff... all bets are off when we're stupid. With the 154 x 16 track I have the same footprint as the 162 x 15 but is a little shorter to turn easier (with the 2010 skid).

I know the XP does it all real well until I put myself in a bad side hill situation. The M8 is great except on the bumps; face it, we all have to ride the moguls to get to the powder play areas.

One last thought... Got a bad back? get a Jack... (and not the cheap copy)

Here are some pics of the new RMK.......I really like the look of it. I think because it looks like a REV which is still my favorite chassis to date.:face-icon-small-hap
The last is a quick overlay I did to see what I mean.:face-icon-small-coo

Rumoring 430 lbs. dry weight.........if that is true then it will be the new mountain LITE leader. Looks impressive for sure if they can just get their CFI 800 motors higher up on the reliability scale.

If those are the correct weights that will be the best sled ever...Hmmmm and with boost,I could switch from Cat to that

motor has been reliable this year...the fuel system has been the problem..motor in the 11 is over 160 hp, has all new cylinders, fuel system, exhaust system, ignition system and some other things...a reliable source has been riding and wrenching it..says it dominates all 10's in everyway.....

2010-2011 m8 full bdx weight reduction kit, PUSH turbo.
412lb sled pushing 285HP
Does the suspension even come in to play if your pinned?

a similar sled is at the RV whatever cat shop here in Utah.....

the under belly pan cooler is one of the dumbest things ive ever seen:face-icon-small-dis. those BDX exhaust valves come in a close second:face-icon-small-sho

The mountain sled doesnt have the radiator thing in it. I think that is only on the rush because there was no tunnel to put a cooler in.
