In regards to steering I think you should do the best you can to keep the steering like a pro. The vertical steering on them is part of what makes them feel how they do. Either with a Universal joint or something to keep the steering post angle and handlebar swing the same as the pro. This is just my opinion but i think it is important.

I will not build the steering like the Pro. The steering would be right in the area in front of the tank (turbo area) and the steering rod would be routed where the intercooler will be placed. I will try to make it as upright as possible with a traditional steering post above the engine. It will be lightyears better then the Nytro an hopefully more upright than Ski doo.

Started on a template for the tunnel ending on the shortie, it will be bolted for easy removal to mount the tunnel extension.

Made the end plate for the shortie tunnel, i dont have a sheet metal brake so its not perfect and i did some hammer work around the cooler to cover as much as possible of the hole.
Im thinking of using the Ski doo rear light plastic/flap holder so it will be hidden anyways.

Made a lower bumper mount. Feels ridgid enough.

Put it on the floor to be able to try out rider position/handlebar position.

I have to figure out where to continue now. There are things that must be done before i can move on to the next thing thats waiting for the next thing.. sort of

I am waiting for bearing retainer for driveshaft and the sheet that goes from the front tunnel cooler to the tunnel and fiberglass hood and sidepanels.

Im starting to like that name more and more
It would be nice to have a wrap with Frankensled written i green scary letters all over it.

Started on the runningboards today but my angle grinder broke down.

Used Fiberglass hood with some damages , side panels will arrive in a week or two.

Finally the bearing retainer and the metal sheet arrived.
And i have a long skid on the way should arrive in the beginning of next week

Nothing done the last couple of days, but today i cleaned the garage and started to repair the hood.

Cut the right Nytro runningboard and continued repairing the fiberglass hood.

I really enjoy these types of builds. These builds eat up a lot of time and cash. Always amazed what people can build in a garage.

Nothing to show pics of today just more repair of the hood.
Today i decided that i will use the Swedish "ASA Suspension" shocks on my build, its a patented shock with no traditional springs.
it has been around for a couple of years but due to several reasons it has not hit the market, but now they are making a drive.
The technology behind it is really clever and simple but it seems to work really well, its been on a couple of snow cross sleds and its almost no maintenace needed on them, one driver has had the same shock for 7 years!? without even a oil change.
There is no rebound or compression adjusters and no shim stack, it "adjust" itself depending on use, so soft when cruising and gets harder when needed.
It sounds to good to be true but im really looking forward to try it out.
The homepage is going to be updated and a facebook page has been started recently.

How is the pricing on the shocks compared to the other brands like fox, elka, raptors and exit?
Those looks really interesting to me and would be fun to try out next season. Because I live in Norway there is no problem for me to get them either

The ASA shocks work very well but it comes at a price, because of the high internal pressure the whole shock is made out of steel so they are really heavy.!!

Well if they are going to an aluminium body that would be great, i actually got 2 sets of ski shocks from them last winter and those where all steel.
I like your build, looking foreward to hear how you like the finished product when it is all done.
