And yet another goggle thread, different question though

Do you guys take your goggles off when digging out or leave them on. I am trying to remember what I did last year and cant. I know I fogged up bad and then they froze up, it was a mess sometimes.

So, what is your opinion. Of course digging myself or someone else out is when I get really heated up and start sweating.

I take off my goggles if the sled is stuck bad. BUT, if I do take them off i open my hood and put them on my pipe, or on the clutch cover to dry them (yes, it works!) ...then i close my hood :) by the time its time to start riding again they are nice and completely dry. been doing this for the past 5 years, works great.

I use the Quick Straps; so if it's a quick unstuck I just undo them, put them around the back of my helmet, and redo them.

If it looks like it's gonna take a while I'll dry them out.

I take them off and wedge them in the engine compartment to dry. I don't put them on the pipe as I found out once that the foam likes to melt!

I second the quick strap route. Works great. You should always keep a spare set of goggles in your pack or somewhere on your sled too. If you are having enough fun you will end up with quite a bit of snow on your lens eventually. Just nice to be prepared with a fresh set.

I like the way the quick straps work, I just cant bring myself to stick something to my helmet. Am I the only one?

If its a bad stick, I take the helmet and goggles off. I don't want to overheat and sweat my butt off.

It still happened that I sweated too much getting my sled back up the hill it rolled off of yesterday, by the time I got back to the truck as the sun was setting the inside of my powercross pullover was coated in a thin layer of ice from my sweat condensation freezing. Never gonna do that again without opening the pit zips or taking the pullover off.

If im wearing goggles they have q straps. Without em goggs are a pita. I agree with the take em off and warm em under the hood,,,,BUT , then when the snow hits em the snow melts due to the warm goggs:confused: . Then of course they freeze up.

Had em on an older helmet, got tired of the hassle for switching the goggles out and went back to standard goggles. Looking at the possibility of going back to em this season.
