And then there were 2...

if poo picked up the hp to what doo and cat have...doo and cat wouldnt be able to sell a sled..be thankful poo has less hp.........

In addition, then what would snowmobiler and wyoboy1000 have to complain about. Both are starting to sound like a scratched, scratched, scratched, scratched record (CD for the younger ones).

I don't think you can go wrong with any of them. Depends on what you want,

Yamaha's stock don't compete but, if you want big HP half a** reliable then that is the way to go.

Skidoo invented the new chassie craze & their motors make good power.

Polaris has the best boondocking chassie out right now, what they lack in HP they make up for in weight.

The new Cat chassie is fine & it has the most reliable motor, so it was blowing belts last year. Ski Doo's have been doing that for years.

My theory is they all need some work out of the box just depends on how you ride & how competitive you want to be. I own all four brands so I am not biased by any means & I ride with people of all different brands. On any given day the same rider can trade marks on the same hill & all the marks will be close to the same.

The Pro is a good sled

The A/C proclimb is a good sled

The XM will be a good sled

Yamaha's with a turbo are good sleds.

They are all going to break & have problems. If you are a good rider you can make any of them do the same thing.

But, by all means keep the bantering up cause I have ne snow & need some intertainment!!!!! :face-icon-small-hap

Yeah, we've been hearing that for years from Yamaha. Let me guess, lighter power steering, factory turbo for another $5k and 4.5 lbs lighter. I want to the sled four-stroke to come around like it did in moto but it is not even close right now.

I guess that is a matter of perspective on the motocross bikes. They didn't (and still don't) race heads up, the 4 stokes had twice the displacement just to keep up.

Sandman, you've been on the back side of the mountain too long. Cat did not lose suzuki, they bought their shares out. It is hard enough to build a competitive sled these days without having to plan a year and half ahead on how many engines you need to order. Don't count out Cat or Yammi quite yet. I like the poo pro but I do question the long term durability. After building engines with crank and piston issues for 10 years straight I guess it is accepted as the norm! We all have it pretty good now days, no matter what color the sled we ride.

I like how you can say the proclimb is an epic fail after just one season, there is certainly room for improvement but I'm far from calling it an epic fail.

Stack

I have never seen a stock Pro outclimb a stock ProClimb. Unless you put a Sally on the ProClimb. Pros are the best sled out of the box though.

I have been a Cat guy.for over a decade and after the ProClimb I am jumping ship to Polaris. IMHO Cat is not investing in the Mtn segment and it shows with the ProClimb which is like the Apex to me.

And I'm fine with that because the weight is very close. Only you get a ton more grunt from the 4-stroke moto.

To say that the XM is any more of a mtn sled than the XP or PC is completely retarded! You have no idea if it is any better yet. I hope Yamaha does come out with something that is at least an option!

As for Cat going all 4 stroke..... NO that ain't happening! They have a DI 2stroke for next year. The Proclimd will evolve, question is will it weigh as much as a Yamaha or as much as a Etec?

Cat could dominate in one year if they listened to guys like Rasmussen(I know, gone to the enemy) or just pulled their head out and copied the best part of each sled. The AC engine in a light weight narrow chassis would be as good as anything on the mountain. How do they go from great clutching to crap in one year? Someone should get shot for that. In front of the rest of the engineers. If they really got serious they would build a factory carbon fiber chassis and just leave the competition in the dust. No mild steel anywhere. Just good cromoly tubing and 6061 aluminum. Sleds are pretty simple when you get down to it and everything you need to know is staring AC right in the face. GET IT DONE!

got to be one of the dumbest threads ive read, the fact that you think the xm is going to be some game changing sled your an idiot! Some dumb tmotion suspension and flex edge track? How many people change to a kmod or timbersled, and also who change tracks? so then its back to being a normal xp! And yes the pro is a smooth riding sled but my lonely not so mountain sled pro-climb went to every place that my buddies slp piped and power addiction modded pros while my lil kitty was bone stock! You die hard poo fans crack me up! i mean poo hasn't had a decent mountain sled in years and they have a contender you guys are all high and mighty, i mean get over yourselves. So yes i guess the number 2 selling mountain sled of last year must have been a typo

PC is not that bad a mountain chassis (with a few minor changes). It rides well and gets up on the snow well. It's not even too heavy and weight is easy to remove if you want to invest.
Problem with the PC last year was lack of mountain testing by mountain riders. Just the amount of snow injestion was rediculous out of the box. Easy to fix stuff and many were things were addressed in 2013. But not all (disc brake cover for one). That points out further lack of mountain testing and using consumers as R&D. IMO that is where Cat made it's mistake not with the chassis.
If anyone should get fired at AC it's the tall windshield, heated seat, pick the best resort for quality of wine test riders.

I vote with my wallet because life is too short. Yam lost me at 500 lbs dry. Doo lost me with the piston and rod eating 800's. Cat just lost me because of lies about how much R&D they did. We'll see how long Poo lasts for me.
I doubt it will be forever because sooner or later one will jump above the others again. A perfect example is how much better the Pro is over anything else in the mountains right now. If you aren't on a Pro your in second place.

I am sure everyone will agree lol lol lol .

Pot calling the kettle black! Aren't you doing the same thing with AC that you are biotching about with the Pro guys?

Ha hardly I'm not the one posting a thread saying that the AC or even the yammi sled are not mountain sleds! It's not the sled that determines that its the rider! So I'm nether the pot or the kettle because they are all good mountain sleds so choose the one that best fits you and don't go brand bashing

Enjoy your PC, I know guys that loved their RX1's also. Personally , I think the PC is a sno slug.

The original first post said there were two "contenders". You can take that multiple ways. But if you think that the sled doesn't make a difference in mountain riding and it is all the rider, you haven't tried all the mtn. sleds!
