altimeter reading

Anybody out there having problems with the altimeter not reading correctly ,2009 M8 sno-pro,almost 2000' off. I have re calabrated it at different elevations and it only seems to read about 200' differance. Can any body tell me if this will effect fuel metering? or is the altimeter feature just a feature that the computer does not use to make its calculations?
