My altimeter will only adjust up and down 500 ft roughly switched out the barometric pressure sensor, and didnt fix it. anyone have any ideas? Will this affect the performance.

No the altimeter in the gauge is just for info it has nothing to do with engine performance that is done elsewhere
not to dismiss your issue... but the altimeter is pretty much useless unless you calibrate it daily and at the riding area... Not much point in even looking at it.
I was riding around the peak of everest a DAY after calibrating mine at my house (5 miles from riding area, and 1800 feet lower)... they're just not a useful tool.
And like powerstroke said... it's just a toy, no relation/ connection to the motor at all.
