Alpine Area vs. Cooke City?

Was planning a trip in March and was wondering people's opinion of the Alpine area vs. Cooke City. I have been to Cooke city and it is awesome when there is snow, but it seems to get tracked up pretty fast. I haven't been to Alpine, but I have heard it is awesome. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

IMO, I would ride afton/alpine area any day over cooke. Way to many people in cooke and the area seems to be limited. The are LOTS of places in alpine to ride besides just alpine.

Have you considered Revelstoke? It's a shorter trip from Sandpoint and ridin doesn't get much better.

Yeah, have been to Revelstoke, and it's awesome, but not a big fan of the crowds and wanted to try somewhere new. I now that south of us seems to be getting more snow than us this year.

just got back from Alpine...It's always been good to me. Little bit further but

it's mostly freeway and no crowds compared to revy. Never been to cooke

though
