Alaska Airlines.......bad service? Family's need to read this!!

Our stroller was destroyed in the care of Alaska Air Lines and we are now told they will not replace it or do anything about it!!!

This all became news today after spending hours on the run around:confused:, from filling out the damage report to calling, since they didnt call as promised....We ended up driving out to the airport today...and for nothing.....got passed around to one person to the next, until I spoke to some SUPERVISOR in Seattle that said TO BAD your out of luck!!!

Now after it's destroyed they say its an high risk item and you ship it at your own risk!! Why wore we not told the risk in the first place? We travel to Mexico every year since Hayden was 3 months old and never told this until today!!! They didnt even tell us this after they destroyed it? We wore told wait a few days and we take care of this little problem!!!

So appearently this is they way our belongings are handled at Alaska Airlines? maybe it will make or maybe not just have to wait and see!!

So keep it this in mind when traveling with kids.......

Bad part its a $500 stroller!!! I am pretty sure I would have left this one at home if I was aware of this policy!!!

What kinda policy is this any way? At your own risk and its an airplane involved at what over $800 a ticket on the holidays???

hmmm thats akward, I usually fly out of Billings to Seattle using these airlines and they are one of my favorites. Sorry for the bad luck.

Now...the airline from Minneapolis/St.Paul to Novia Scotia is a mofo! They lost my $4700 power analyzer and it took over 4 months to get it back, and they opened the SOB and stole my batteries out of it  Talk about a low rent move.

everybody talks about them and they ....its just the low cost deuche bags that work for them ..........

Having worked on the ramp (20 years ago) I can tell you quite a few of those guys think "fragile" means "throw as hard as you can".

Granted, your stroller didn't say "fragile" but the point is they don't care, unfortunately.

My 1st day on the job I was w/ a Samoan (sp?). Dude had like 20" bi-ceps. I'm throwing bags in the plane and he's supposed to be stacking them neatly. Well, the bags are just stacking up and not moving. I peak in to see what the hell he's doing and he's searching thru bags. :face-icon-small-dis

This dude was fired a week later as he was busted leaving work w/ a fly-rod.

Also, there was this 6'6" dude that blew his ACL out playing hoops the night before. He gets to work and acted like he was hit by a tug. Went down like a bag of sh!t that he was. Got workmans comp out of that deal. :face-icon-small-dis

Doesn't shock me that your stroller wasn't treated well. I have 3 friends that worked for Alaska Air on the ramps of SEATAC. They were all laid off and replaced with cheaper workers....keep in mind, my firends were not making very good money in the first place....makes you think about what they are paying the new baggage handlers......
