After having to walk out of the Tetons last year, leaving my sled behind, I started the search for some sort of collapsible snowshoe. My search led me to Airlite. After talking to the owner/inventor, Rick Stafford, I ordered 4 pairs for me and my riding buddies.

I can tell you these things are awesome! Lightweight, don't take up much space, and provide a huge footprint when inflated.

I hope to never need them, but it is comforting knowing they are in my survival gear.

Man those are expensive. REAL snow shoes are half that. Not sure how they justify that price for just a blow up toy. Snow shoeing is hard work too. Not sure how far you could make it on a set of these. A lot farther than without but I doubt far enough to self rescue.

Nice idea. I've often thought about packing real ones, but they are so big. I also wonder on the durability. I can say u aren't going very far on foot without something.
