I don't get it, if it's made in a non-union shop then wouldn't it be cheaper? After all you aren't paying for layer upon layer of useless bureaucracy and higher than market value wages.
Typically speaking, Everything that is made in America is going to cost more than something that is imported because we pay and earn higher wages in the U.S. than many other countries, often 10X as much at that. I won't comment on Union vs. Non-union as it really doesn't pertain to this conversation and I don't want to de-rail the topic any more than it already has been.
What the bottom line really comes down to is the fact that the folks at SPG saw a niche in the market they they wanted to enter into in a big way to offer a unique and highly functional product. Whether or not we as buyers are willing to purchase the product for what they are asking is entirely up to us. In the end, I think it's great that we now have 1 more great option to consider when we decide to invest (or just spend) some money in our sport of choice.
