New from Skinz are these AirFrame side panels for the Pro. They are the same weight as the stock panels but the venting is huge! Made from TPO which is what the stock panels are. The louver section is facing back which pulls air and keeps the snow out. The mesh section has tough mesh with pre-filter screen to keep the snow and water out. It is a base coat/clear coat finish on them. These should make a big improvement for stock units as well as turbo set ups.

These will be available in Black, White and Red.

If you want a set you'll want to order early, last year the AirFrame boards and seats were so huge that they were tough to get.

Price is $749.95 retail for the pair.

We will add more pictures as we get them.

So with that Price..

It comes as it looks??

As One Piece Side panels... Or is there work we have to do to put them on???

Paul... I saw the protos on these... very nice work... look much better in person..

Paul,

Correct me if I'm wrong... but I believe that these are a COMPLETE side panel replacement... NOT a "vent kit" that you cut into your existing $500 side panels.

You pop off your stockers and pop these back on...

Yeah you are correct, but they are still kinda spendy.

Wooo $$$ I get the concept, and I like it, looks real clean, but if the arguement is that you are saving your stock side panels, I think the majority would still spend a hundred bucks to vent the stockers. Or you could even buy a brand new set at 500 bucks for and vent the living bajeezus out of them for even less than the 750. Like i said they look great, but i will be curious to see how they sell....your target consumer is most definitely going to be the uneducated, just buy it and have the dealer put it on customer. Couple questions for you though..

1. What will the warranty be on the vented mesh areas?? Seems like alot of surface area to catch a stick or branch while on its side...

2. Does the mesh area have a peel back cover like on the hoods where you can opt for more or less venting?

3. TPO is UV resistant correct?

4. Im curious to see how the louvered areas are drawing air in, seems like they would just be more of an area for heat to escape? See MountainHorse thread on venting and ducting...

5. Are the louvers clipped into the TPO side panel somehow? Or rigidly mounted? Remember the stock vents clipped on the IQ chassis, they would pop out when you rolled your sled....A vent does no good if it wont stay put..

Thanks for your time and making great products i hope this is a winner for you next year.

like them but price is way high, i'll go with a vent kit and hack up my panels.

The trend is that almost everything from SPG is spendy. 500 something for airframes. Be real!!! Maybe if they were Ti. Probably less than 50 bucks worth of aluminum put in a jig and Tig welded. Would take less than an hour once you had the jig built.

Maybe shipping is high, they list for $439 from SS, or ship for $490 from Skinz.

Looks to be at least 24 welds per side, need to weld one side then flip and weld the other so 48ish welds per side. Need 4 jigs for the long tubes for putting holes for little tubes and welding on mounting brackets.

Anywho, if you have 12 large for a sled, another nickel for goodies seems proportionally ok. For sure, sleddin' ain't a po' man's sport.

I have to defend my fellow manufacturer here a little....the investment in the tooling to reproduce that entire side panel set alone is huge-I give 'em kudos for trying it!

here a little....

Curt

haha. Man I do have to say though. Engineering at its finest. Look at it this way guys. Status thing. Why have a Porch 911T S when my 3.6 V6 mini van can beat it?
STATUS THING!
Bet you no one else you ride with will have a $800 pair of side panels....

Just food for thought.
