Airbox on 2011 Yamaha YZ450f

The shrouds flex out, which lets snow in the airbox from underneath. Take your airbox assembly off and fill in any open holes with some hot glue. Put prefilter over the intakes on the tips of the shrouds. I would try that first before spending a bunch of time and money trying to build a snorkel. I logged quite a few miles last season with just the prefilters and only plugged up a few times on the really deep days.

Thanks for ideas I really appreciate it! Going to get some more per-filter material
And give that a go. I am in good old Washington the land of cascade concrete so
we don't have dry pow as much as a lot of you guys!!! Thanks again and ready to rock the Mountainhorse!

2010 yz450

My pal tom came by the shop a couiple of weeks back when he put together his new Mtn Hoss kit and picked up a foot square piece of FROFZ SKIN and went home and glued it over his air intake on his 010 yz fuelie. I haven't even seen how the fuelies air intake works. Last week no biggy cause it was we heavy snow. His worked mine worked.

Today 3' plus in places of deeeep warminsh fuff, stuck to everty thing, you could get stuck on flat ground, my wr modded air box was a problem, Tom's fuelie with simple covers was golden, gave it the acid test, riding for miles in fuff full throttle praying for a spot to turn around, and his 121 and fuelies with no thermostat was ok.

Catsledman1,

If you have a chance would be nice enough to take a pictures of your buddies YZ450 intake and post it on here for us to take a look at? I have a 2012 YZ and need to figure out the intake.

Thanks

Specific pre-filter on order which I am going to use along with the one supplied
By timbersled. I would like to see where he actually hot glued the material.
