air intake

I was reading an old post about getting more air into the air box and it was saying to tape off the holes on the inside by the cluth and exhaust where the air box gets its air. so i figured that out. But when i tolk off the vents outside by your nees their is foam in their and it looks like it was covering the hole to the air box. so I guess i am asking if i should take that out of their compleatly to get more air?

Buy the SLP box up in the "for sale" section, "gut it" if it isnt already... make the snorkel through the top up to your "speedo" hole and be sure to re-jet. Even without the snorkel, that SLP box will give ya' lot better air. I just left the lower vents on each side open.
