air fuel mixture on rx-1 turbo

i was riding the past weekend and everything was fine until i was on the way back to the truck and i was just about out of gas and my air fuel mixture gauge went way lean. it maxed the gauge out. is this because i was almost out of gas??

Yep, unhu right on track there. You should run on empty all the time. Better has mileage that way. Come on now.

Your A/f gauge went lean because there was no fuel left in you sled to put into the cylinders. When you start to run out of fuel it will show lean on the A/f gauge because it is. You are running out of gas.
