Air/Fuel gauge reads E-9 full throttle?

Anybody know why my Boondocker Turbo Apex A/F reads E-9 at full throttle?

Reads fine from bottom of throtle to just over 3/4 throttle then it goes to E-9

I have been told it means low voltage but if it does what would cause low voltage at full throttle?

It seems like it would be generating all kinds of electricity at full throttle?

Got any Ideas?

I would really like to figure this out because I am sure I am running real rich just to play it safe for right now.

Thank you,

It may be telling you that your sensor is bad... the bunge is done Race gas will kill them quick.

It seems to be working well at the lower RPM or Throttle position, I am not sure which is affecting it so much.

At lower RPM I can adjust the fuel and watch the gauge change accordingly.

All the way up to high RPM it works well but once you decide to really get on it, most of the time, it goes to E-9.

My NGK went bad twice and gave those kind of results as well. One time it'd work then it would give goofy error codes. The Bosch O2 sensor in the NGK is none to hearty. I think the Innovate uses the same sensor. That would be my bet. You could throw a meter on your battery and check what it has for voltage just to be sure you don't have a short somewhere but if you did it'd would likely show up in some other way other than just the wideband.

Exact same problem right now. Voltage is good, tried new sensor and didn't fix the problem. WTF?? Mine flashed E8 before it started the E9 code.

I used to have one and got tired of the problems and replaced with an AEM. I assume you are running the LC1/XD16 combo? Make sure you have all your grounds installed properly. I think two of them go together and one has to go somewhere else? E9 is a voltage code and can be caused by spikes and too low of levels. Go to innovatemotorsports.com, they have manuals and a forum with lots of info.

I also had problems with the Innovate, you need to ground it like the manual says. I didnt bother with Innovate anymore, bought an AEM, problem solved.

E-9

E-9 is supply voltage too low for sensor regulation. I had all kinds of issues with mine until I soldered wires in the serial connection going from the lc-1 to the xd-16 guage. Once I soldered these connections, the guage has been bullet proof. A good ground is needed as well. ONE Very good ground is all that is needed. Also I use an o-ringed cover to seal the guage face up. I would suggest that it is a connection somewhere only b/c it works fine at low rpm/boost. Di-electric grease on the lc-1 to sensor plug as well. When my sensors (2) have failed I have gotten the E-5 code, not the E-9.

the manuals are all there under support.

hope this helps,

Thanks for asking.

No I have not had the time to do Wes G's ideas yet. They make sense and I think they will work.

My gauge works well except full throttle.

Thanks again
