Air box sealing

Some guys silicone or tape their air boxes together.

I gorilla taped and heat taped mine but it cracked the tape.

So what I just did was at key points zip tied the box together so they is no gap at all. Could have taped it again but I seem no point the crack was tightly sealed.



I put just two on the front as shown and put three on the bottom and 4 on the back. When you try to pull it apart at the openings the crack stays shut.

Benefit?

Hey guys,
What benefit do you get from sealing the air box tight?

It won't suck up belt dust and if you smash slews cat tail fluff will go through it too.
