Air box removal/ K&N install

After struggling for 2 hours to get my carbs to seat in the air box I have given up and I am going to install a couple cone style filters with snow covers. I know I will have to rejet, Does anyone have experience with this setup and how much I should jet up for the filters? 2003 rmk 800

Don't do it, run the airbox. Put a small aluminum rivet through the bottom of the airbox boot and the airbox, polaris was doing this by '04. Buy an SLP airbox intake kit, works great and the best part is then you can reach right inside your airbox to get the boots over the carbs easily.

I bought the K&N kit, but can return it. I will try a few small screws or rivits first. Also might try to make my own adaptors. I bought the K&N kit just in case I can't get the box to work.

What Jay said, you will be much happier.
