Aftermarket Shocks

Just thought I would thrown the info out for those watching the thread. We obviously have lots of shock options but we also have a dual rate spring option that has been available for a few years now but most don't know we have them.

Its inexpensive and if a re valve or oil change is due its a great upgrade.
$199.00 IN STOCK

what kind of weight are they rated for? can you get different springs for different weight riders?

Love my fox setup, float3 evol R up front, factory series zero air kit in the rear. Was only about $1900 CAN (last year). I am a heavier guy 6'4" 270 and once I got the fox stuff setup I couldn't be happier, I can bash wooped out trails on the way down to the truck and I can probably count the number of times I have bottomed out on one hand. These days no matter what brand you choose there is some great equipment out there if you are willing to part with the cash.

I would be having a conversation with your shock dealer/tuner. That should definitely not be the case.

I agree, the conversation was had, and refunds were finally given. (After a lot of immature "You never paid for this to begin with" BS.) Bottom line: Buy your product from someone who actually tests it before selling it.

Stock with a good shock shop doo the oil and nitrogen correctly is the first step on ANY new sled...production shocks are pretty bad...

The next step is have a good shock shop REVALVE them for you...

SHR offers a "stage 1 revalve" that works with the stock springs or the next stiffer (rider weight/riding style) taken into account...fresh HPG shocks will hold the set up for 1000s of miles!!

For MOST guys this is ALL you need...the rest NEED better shocks for either the big drops or showing off in the parking lot :face-icon-small-ton-BJ

All good information. The reality is none of us need to go snowmobiling, but we like it as a recreational sport. And it is true that a lot of riders can and will do fine with stock, or revalved shocks. Aftermarket shocks are not for everyone, and some people get upside down with too many tuning options for their suspension. But for those who are looking for more, Tom's like to offer as many options as we can for the snowmobiler. There are some nice options currently for riders from all the shock manufacturers. Aftermarket suspension parts can offer better ride quality, lighter, more adjustability, and a higher parts replacement capability, when fixed objects get in the way.
Options....... are always better then no options!!!

Aftermarket Shocks.

Another option is our new Elka Kit. Why would it be better then just a revalve? You still have stock springs up front; so to replace them with a dual rate set up you add close to $200.00. For optimum performance you should get the HPG oil serviced or changed every 500 miles = (increase cost, $200.00)

Tom,
I will be contacting you for a set of shocks for at least one of our shop-demo T3 872 sleds. We pull the stock sets off when new and move on to a much better setup from someone that specializes in that application and sell the vehicle with a new set of shocks and if we decide to sell the aftermarket set we usually recover a good portion of $ we spent!
