Has anyone put aftermarket ones on? If so what brand and do they work well?

Here are 2 I'm considering:

Do the cleats freeze up on the skinz? I talked to a dealer selling them (not skinz direct) and he claims has been running them for years and no problems with cleats freezing.

I see BM Fab has some but you have to remove the foot hold and I use the foot hold on rare occasions.

In regards to snow evacuation and rigidity you cannot beat skinz airframes.
I only put in minimal amount of traction screws, and traction was never an issue.
The traction screws take a toll on your boot soles, but I would imagine that anything effective would as well.

Best mod I've ever added to any sled!

I concur on the Airframes. I wrecked one of my factory running boards and I was able to buy new Airframes for the about the same price as buying Polaris replacements. Traction is great and they don't hold snow. Drive the screws in with a cordless drill, so you can clutch down the strength, instead of an impact as it's kind of easy to break off the traction screws with the strength of the 1/4" impact.

BM Fabrications

I just installed my BM Fabrications running boards. This was my first attempt at anything like this so it took me 10 hours to finish up. 2017 Summin X 165 Way more rigid, actually trimmed an inch off the side panels and entire width of sled on each side....(2 inches total), plus a little shorter and higher too. Headed out to ride next week. I chose these over the Skinz because of the narrow front and body, not sure why skinz left their product the way they did.

I'll try to report back with actual test results, but looking good here.

Thanks
