Aftermarket Mod's

What do you guys think about having a sticky for afermarket mods. We buy a new sled and have to go through tons of threads to find stuff we may or may not want to buy for our new iron. If there was a place for vendors to post to one thread with the link and description of the item maybe even a few pics. It would be helpful to see it all in one thread. Then maybe a second thread for the consumer to give the pro's and con's for these items. This would help vendors to give info directly for an easy find. Maybe Mountainhorse can give us some input on how this could work. I would imagine they would use it especially if you dont allow them to post a new thread on every item. Enforce it like the classifieds, if they post a new thread with a mod make them move it to the sticky mod post.

There is already an aftermarket/mfg section of the forums... It would be up to you guys to push your favorite mfgs to put the time into this.

Good idea!!

If we had stickies for all the redundant thread topics we wouldn't have room for anything else!

I think it is time to remove the separate "Drive Train" section and include all of those in the Pro-Ride section. I rarely look at the DT section, but there is much info there that should be shared. The panic situation of the 13 drive train is over now. It's just another part of a fantastic snowmobile.

I too am for it. When the traffic from say the start of October peaks there is so much happening so fast the older threads that still have valid information are soon lost for the guys that are to come in later. I myself am also a consumer, so i am not just directing it towards personal sales, i think it would make things easier to find for everyone. Search button can be hit and miss, for me mostly miss. I can also see it getting messy, so how to deal with that im not sure, but we have more than just a few power thinkers who have solutions im sure. For what its worth, my .02. Thanks!
Dan

This may work for a introductory process?

I think it could be done by implementing a similar set of rules as the Parts Counters that MountainHorse has set up for people selling or WTB parts from various Polaris Chassis sleds.

There would be a Sticky with a catchy name; where there are singular posts of available products with a very short description and a link to the actual discussion / debate / product review / or new product release thread. An aftermarket product index, for lack of a better description. An added rule should be the Manufacturer and actual Product name be in the title block of the individual posts.

From the hip that is the best solution that comes to mind. All forum users can / could participate, with either what they have found of particular value, vendors can promote their wares, users can review purchased products, and we all can benefit by being able to find what we are looking for without using the Google search function, as whatever search engine is built into the forum doesn't find 1/4 of what an external Google search digs up.
