Aftermarket Belts?

So how and where is everyone storing their Gates belts? I usually twist up my OEM belts and throw them in my tunnel bag. Wanting to try out a Gates belt on my 16 Axys.

Bring it to my mountains, it wont last that long.

The one that blew on me had a couple of strikes against it. I bought it from OReilleys auto parts because it was convenient. Turns out TRS did some asking around and lots of the blown belts came from OReilleys. I suspect they were stored and/or handled improperly. Besides the fact that it was the wrong belt for the application.

Are you seriously suggesting buying the incorrect belt is a good idea when a correct one is available for the same price?

500 of these miles were out west pinned. the correct belt was not available when I bought it.

Run the gates on the sled, fold up an OEM and put it in the holder as your spare. Eric

I've got 80 break in miles on my Polaris belt. Switching to my Gates 45c4553 as my primary belt.
The Gates belt has warranty for 1 year.
Polaris won't warranty my belt if I blow it up in a year.At half the price it's a no brainer.

How does one go about getting a gates belt warrantied? Had one go yesterday on my second ride on it...

I can print a receipt. Wrapper, well I ordered another one so I can use that. Where do I find a warranty card? I've read before that it's located on the inside of the wrapper? The 45c's that I've bought don't have it there

Both the 45c4553's I've bought this fall had the warranty on inside of belt wrapper.

Hmm. Ordered two more today not thinking about the warranty because I specifically checked the inside of the wrapper for it and it was completely blank. Both are burned now so no recovering them. I'll check the new ones. I'm assuming by "wrapper" you mean the cardboard deal that goes around them.

On recommendation I started using Carlisle XS809 belt this season, it is supposedly the softest compound of them all giving the best pick up on the clutch, also the price is like 80$ :)

Im finding the same thing with the ones Ive ordered this year. No more warranty card on the inside of the sleeve. Im guessing they are no longer putting a warranty on them.
