Other than the OEM what are you running for belts and are you happy with the alternatives?Had good results the Dayco Ultimax 3 on previous Poo's.Don't see a Ultimax part # for the 3211183 AXYS long track.
Saw the Gates 45C4553.1 year warranty, almost 1/2 the price of the OEM on Amazon/Ebay.Hows the performance and durability?

thanks,Pete

Do a search, this has been discussed recently. For the mountain sleds, the belt length/shape hasn't changed from the Pro to Axys chassis, only the belt compound. So, a 11115 belt still fits, along with the Gates/ Cat 048/ Dayco belts.

My preference is the Dayco XTX 5020 belt. Awesome belt and I can pick them up locally at Fleet Farm for $85. Although, I haven't done that for ages, since these belts never give up.

This is incorrect...

The belt from thee Pro to the Axys HAS changed in profile. The Pro belts wont last very long on the Axys. They "fit" on the sled but the side angle is different. I tried a left over Gates on my Axys and I think it lasted about 3 rides before EXPLODING riding the trail out one afternoon.

The nice thing about the Polaris belt is that while it will wear out, they seem very resistant to complete failure. I get about 600 miles of good performance from the Polaris belt, about 100 more than I used to.

16 and 17 axys Pro does use a different angle belt then the 11-15 Pro. I did a bunch of testing on the Axys last year. Stock OEM belts work great for 300ish miles, by the time you hit 500 miles they are done. Buy a new OEM belt and you may or may not get the performance back, the build tolerances on them is terrible.
The Gates Carbon belts (thats the C in the part number) are very good belts, just make sure you get the correct one. Axys =45c4553 Old Pro = 44c4553 , the 2nd number is the only difference.
The gates is much more consistent performance wise and holds RPM better on back to back pulls.
As stated above, if you have one fail, they blow to pieces with out warning. Most of them that failed this way were the wrong application belts, the 45 belt didnt come out until about mid season last year. Eric

I still run the Cat 048 belts and although they wear faster, they are very reliable when it comes to steady rpm and not exploding. I have found that some of the harder compound belts can explode without any notice and can wear groves in the clutch sheaves.

Properly clutched and geared the 048 belt lasts the whole season and I only change because it gets narrowed out.

Do you have to shim the primary for the correct primary offset using the Gates "C" instead of the $150.00 (that's what I get them for) Polaris 3211183 .....

Interesting
I think I will be doing the same this winter...

You may want to give the Gates Carbon a try. Some have said they blow without warning, but I will say I ran one on my Pro the entire season ~1450 miles without one issue. I have never got more than 400 miles from an OEM belt in 30 years. The Gates appears to take a set when cold, I warm them up easy then hammer on it all day long. My son also put one on his Pro, his lasted all season also. After last seasons test run I decided that someone finally has built a better belt. I would have more than likely gone through (4) 3211115's last year costing $700.00. My single Gates Carbon cost $86.00.

Offset? or side clearance?

I didnt have to adjust anything and had better side clearance then with the OEM belt.

I also tried the cat 048 belt and you do have to adjust your secondary to run that belt. It works "ok", but made the sled feel lazy, just didnt have the response that I wanted. Eric

650 miles on my INCORRECT IQ/PRO style gates belt installed on a 2016 sks instead of the new Axys gates belt. Yes it does have a slightly different angle. 2 turns on the belt tightener and never had any issues.

My bad... belt to face clearance/ I have run the 115 belts and they are OK in a pinch- as far as the cat 048- been running them for years on my 14-15 pro' and had to close up the clearance on the spacing to get at least 20 thou.... but not run yet on the Axys.. got too may of the 183 when snowchecked Last year- but ran across a good deal on 048 from a friend that sold his cat and 5 new belts for $50.00 ( $10.00 ea) was a no-brainer.....

Bring it to my mountains, it wont last that long.

The one that blew on me had a couple of strikes against it. I bought it from OReilleys auto parts because it was convenient. Turns out TRS did some asking around and lots of the blown belts came from OReilleys. I suspect they were stored and/or handled improperly. Besides the fact that it was the wrong belt for the application.

Are you seriously suggesting buying the incorrect belt is a good idea when a correct one is available for the same price?

Interesting. The gates belt I exploded was also from OReilleys. The next one I bought was from dobeck and no issues. But the one from OReilleys was the Pro part number and the dobeck was the axys part number. I wouldnt think the slight angles difference would be a life or death deal for the belt. Who knows. Eric

GATES G FORCE C12 CARBON DRIVE BELT. I've ordered these and have not had an issue for both my Axys and Proride.

Two different part numbers though. The new Axys number is: 377438 (45C4553). First is my vendor part number the second is gates number.

You can get all the OEM cross Reference and model info at this link and order as well: http://www.gobigparts.com/GATES-G-FORCE-C12-CARBON-DRIVE-BELT.html

i've been really impressed with the Gates carbon belt on my turbo pro
will be trying gates on Axys for sure

I'm going to give the gates a try this season. I got about 400 miles on my Polaris last season before it blew.

Went to the gates 44c4553 this past winter on my 2013 pro 800. rpm seems more constant and doesn't fade as much after long pulls. One did explode on me after about 1000km without warning, I got it warrantied and got a free belt in the mail. I do wash them when new and break them in carefully. But I can get 2 of the gates belts shipped to my door for the price of 1 polaris belt so i'm sticking with the gates carbon belt. I think I have around 1200-1500km on the current gates belt thats on my sled now.

FYI if the gates belt explodes, keep the pieces of the belt so you can send it to gates when you go to get a new one under warranty.

To Gates 45C4553 users....

Do NOT use the belt holder under the hood for your 45C. The back bend the belt must do to fit in holder will cause premature failure.

The 45C is awesome on the Axys...as was the 44c on ProRides
