Aftermarket Apex hood questions?

I may to buy a new hood with the headlight delete for my Apex.
I just need to know how these attach to the sled, can you use the stock fastner system?
I have only found Alpine with the headlights deleted, are there others?
My headlights are in need of being replaced after the person I bought the sled from had the whole assembly break off after a little mishap, the two retainers on then sides are broken off,is there a fix for this or does anyone have a good one for sale?
I still can't believe how heavy the lights are on this sled,so if they have to go I really don't mind either.
If they have to go I will buy a light bar and a couple of Piaas but only want little holes.

Thanks,
Dave

When I bought mine from CR it didnt have the headlights cut out, so you cut them to size. If I recall they did use the stock fastening points.

Mountain fit hoods are WAY tougher and half the price and come painted. I used 4 hood straps from polaris. two front and two rear to mount.. Menstoys on here sells them for mountain fit and he lives in the kootneys so you can get it greyhound in a day or so. To cut out the head light i used a dremmel with the cutting wheel to get close then the small drum sander attachment to get it perfect. I rolled out of the 90,oh 30 rolls and never broke. its tough!

Good to know their is a stronger option out there, the one I had from CR felt pretty brittle. I'll second Wayne from MenzToyz, he's great to deal with.:face-icon-small-win

Just got a mountian fit hood today and it came in a box folded in half, very tuff hood and looks like it will fit nice!

Mountain mod is another option you may want to check out, built in B.C. and are very durable. Check out pics of Turblue's sled if you want, one of the nicest hoods in my opinion.:face-icon-small-win

Ive got a mountain fit hood from Wayne at Menztoys and its great. Its tough I put it to the test after a few rolls into a tree. I used a couple straps on each side that I got from Wayne as well. I used a hole saw to cut holes for the lights then enlarged them with a drum sanding roll on a drill. I dont think its really any lighter than the stock setup but definetly stronger.
