Aftermarket A-Arms vs Simply replacing with stock

Looking for an aftermarket solution for my A-arms. If you've used a particular brand/style and had luck let me know! I am currently investigating Alternative Impact's solution.

Thanks again!

Vohk has a nice set of beefy lowers that you can use your stock uppers with
I believe there 300 for a pair of lowers

How do I get my hands on a set?

Call up alpine motorsports. They are pretty much identical to the skinz replacement arms, they are even made by skinz but some minor change for vohk that I'm not aware of what the difference is. The skinz ones are back ordered anyways so maybe vohk has some some of his in stock.

I think someone on here has a reinforcment piece that bolts/clamps on that looks good(Teth air???)......I had already bought Kmods for mine

I have a completely snapped Lower LH. Looking for a replacement solution. Fearful that if I choose to go 36 - 37" if I will be purchasing new spindles as well.

Yep.

Get the heavy duty ones from alt.

The assualt spindle is different then pro spindle but I'm not sure exactly why but my guess is that the spindle stop and the way it clears the back of the arm?

Since pro arms are different then assualt arms, maybe zrp will chime in since they make spindels for both.

Steering stop and length of steering arm. Red spindle is for the Assault, Pro is in front.

The KMOD arms are a bolt-on 37" solution that retains identical ride height with stock length shocks... no need to send in your
shocks to shorten them to maintain the factory geometry and exact ride height on the front.

They are some of the sturdiest arms that I've run across... And I have yet to see an any 'normal' crash/rock-hit harm
an AXYS/ProRide bulkhead with ANY brand aftermarket arm.

I also have nothing bad to say about the SPG, ALT, Z-Broz arms either... all quality pieces.

Bobby,

Great photo.

Are you selling Kevin's 37" kit as well?

The Assault spindle doesn't surprise me... as it shares the same 42.5" arms with the Rush and Switchbacks....
it would need a spindle unique to only ASSAULT-RMK's to keep the relationship between the Front and the Pro
RMK-Type Rear skid correct.

Great part about Alt impacts is there is a CHANCE that you can fix it quickly on the mountain and keep riding like nothing happened by just changing a rod end. It has saved my day a time or two.

Another huge player in not bending a arms is to run wear bars instead of carbides.

The only problem with the stock a arms is the lowers fail too easy. The upper stock arms are great! I'm running teth-air's brace on my lowers and have had some pretty good jolts on it with no problems. For all the grief of swapping bushings and bearings this is the easiest and cheapest solution in my opinion.

The only problem I see is if you bend something I bet your down for a while. Look how hard it is to get skins stuff when you order ahead of time. That is where alternative Impact and maybe some others will be priceless.

So in all fairness we need to compare apples to apples. My kit is complete with all hardware, no pressing bushings in or out of your stock arms. Our 36 inch kit is adjustable from 36 inch to 37 inch still being able to be centered on the spindles. This year we have the option of a heavy duty lower arm or the normal strength. What that amounts to is we bumped the lower arm rear main tube( using the new Docol )by one tube size. Not something your going to wipe the bulkhead out with. Rod end design gives you a shear point so on an impact "possibly" replacing a $18.50 part instead of an a arm.Rod ends on both upper and lower arms means a fair range of camber adjustment. Replacement lowers $185 (stock depending on location $230ish). Uppers $95. All moly kits have sway bar attachment. Our axys kits come with all new hardware. Zbroz you need to press out bushings from your stock arms and back in. Zbroz have arched lowers. Unless they changed something recently on the 36" kit you cannot use the sway bar. Kmod I believe come with all hardware and sway bar tabs but no sheer point, no Docol material and about $150 more than ours. The skinz are a forward kit that could be a bonus with the pro but IMO unnecessary on an axys. Correct me on what I'm inaccurate with I'm going off memory. Price on the skinz was $1299.00 But comes with spindles and arched lowers. No clue what indivual replacement cost is on other brands. As you can see not a bash session, everyone just really needs all the real world info in front of them to make the purchase that best fits their needs. I'm sure I barely touched on everything but I think hit on the important ones. Thank you
Dan
