Hi guys, new to the Yamaha forum just traded my XP for a 2010 162" Nytro. I have Pual's new PG turbo kit ordered.
My question is as the title says, are Avid drivers a must do with the extra HP with the turbo?? I mean do I need to do them right away or will the stock last awhile??
I don't want to go all the way out to the mountains and spin them off in the first day out.

Thanks

If your going to do it! Do it right. Personally id run avids. But i know lots of guys that dont and they've been fine.

if you are lucky & keep the track tight you can get some miles out of the stockers, but most last only a few hundred miles.its always easyer to do right away than lose a good day of riding when you cook the stockers on a nipple deep powder day.:D:beer;:D

Ya i would do them now. your gonna have to sooner or later, the stock ones don't last long.

If you are running the pump gas turbo kit then you will be ok for a while. You do not have to do it right away, you will get a few hindred miles out of the drivers, but you will have to replace them.

I ran my Nytro with the MCX kit for the first two trips out in the year before I switched them, but they where looking pretty chewed up by then.

Enjoy the new sled!

I bought a set of Mountain magic drivers last season only lasted 100 miles now I am waiting for my avids to come in. Do them now you won't regret it one bit.

Run the track too loose and it won't matter what drivers. I just changed a set of drivers that have about 5000k on them, 2000 of it boosted and they are still not bad. I think if you are 240 and under you should be fine with stock drivers as long as track tension is checked. If you are going to run 17 I would do drivers. I saw 1 set of drivers destroyed in the first 1000k at only 12lbs of boost because the track was really loose.

Wait a minute, I thought I was the only one they have ever heard of this happening to. This sounds very familiar. Mine lasted 2 rides. Avids lasted 3500 miles so far.

Thanks for the responses guys :)

Where's the best/cheapest place to get a hold of Avids?
