We're getting into the 2013-14 season at Aerocharger - kits are shipping daily and in a few weeks we'll be hitting the road to attend all the western US and Canadian snow shows.

Aerocharger Intercooled and Non-Intercooled Pro kits ran awesome all last season, and we have some interesting new stuff for these sleds in the pipeline. We strive to provide the most comprehensive package possible right out of the box, and this season we are improving on it with a few refinements. This will get elaborated on as we get closer to snow, but you can expect from Aerocharger this year:

  • SLED VENTING. Heat dissipation is critical for best turbo performance, so we went ahead and included turbo side and clutch side Snow Silk vent kits in every Aerocharger snowmobile turbo package this season.

  • CLUTCHING. Clutch setups were the most requested item last season. Getting this right is one of the biggest factors in your turbo sled running the best it can, and this year an extensive custom clutch setup comes standard in every Aerocharger snowmobile turbo system. This includes custom ramps, weights, gearing, and a very cool custom helix with improved angles for turbocharged operation.

There's no need to hassle with lists of options and dubious upgrades with Aerocharger. Our goal is to bring you the fullest package, with the easiest install, to keep you on the snow as much as possible this winter.

Here's Brad and Calvin introducing Aerocharger's 2013-14 systems, including an engineering rundown on what works and what doesn't when it comes to turbocharging snowmobiles.

We're looking forward to some awesome snowy days ahead, and if you have any questions at all you can hit us up at info@aerocharger.com or post to us right here on Snowest.

I would also like to know what changes to the fuel management were made. That was my only complaint with my 2011/2012 aerocharger kit, was that the dobek controller had a mid range bag that we were unable to tune out. Last season we decided to go with the boost-it xic controller from Neil and that made a huge difference. Much crisper from bottom end all the way up to wide open. Way way better in the mid range. Other than that my aerocharger kit has been great.

On both of our aerochargers the dobek "aero commanders" were very inconsistent. I hope Aero dumped the Dobek in favor of a good controller for this year. Thats the only thing holding me back from buying a aerocharger for my 2013 Pro.

Hey guys, here's this from Andrew our engineer:

Our kits are shipping with the Dobeck fuel controller again this year - we will be trying out some new fuel tech this season, but at the moment we are proved out and confident with Dobeck. There is much fuel testing done annually, and the '13-'14 maps are not the same as in years past. The fuel controller hardware itself has also been updated for durability. It's now fully waterproof, and as a result the fuel controller warranty has been increased from 90 days to 2 years.

Do you want to run Bully Dog or other fuel systems? That's no big deal, just let us know and we'll leave ours out of the box. Aerocharger will still warranty the turbo and kit for non-fuel related issues, although obviously we will be limited in troubleshooting third-party fueling for you.

Love your turbo but I am baffled that you guys continue to endorse such a substandard controller on such a good turbo kit. IMO...

I agree that it would serve aerocharger better as far as performance to go with anther controller. However, I do have to say they provided excellent customer service when we were trying to figure out the fueling issues with the dobek at the end of the 2012 season. They sent two different brand new controllers to me free of charge with different mapping to try. All I had to do was send back the old controller. So I was very pleased with their customer service, just not the final results out of the dobek controller.

With that said the mapping on the boost-it kit was close to being sufficient for me right from the start. It took half a day playing with numbers to tune out the mid range- bog that was present. Very crisp throttle response on the bottom end compared to the dobek. The boost-it XIC just controls the extra injectors, and adds the additional fuel solely using the extra injectors. The boost-it xic has the adjustability in 250 rpm increments. So dialing in very specific areas is possible. However the boost-it controller is not as user friendly to adjust as the dobeck piggy back controller. The dobek is not nearly as flexible, but is simpler to adjust. Aerocharger seems to use top quality parts and goes the extra mile to provide every kit with everything the end user needs to install and operate there kit, I just wish that they would have offered a different controller with the kit. I realize that would be difficult for them to do, because their entire R&D is in the "aerocommander" dobek fuel box. The turbo in my opinion is second to none, and I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase anther kit from aerocharger. I just wouldn't want their fuel controller to go with it.
