Aerocharger 2013-14 E-TEC Turbo Systems

we got some pictures of parts to show off.

The Aerocharger + Welded Turbine Inlet

aerochargerEtec_zps960b70dd.jpg

Aerochargers for Ski-Doo snowmobiles now feature welded turbine inlets, which reduce complexity, weight and backpressure while improving flow to the turbo. This isn't an off-the-shelf automotive turbo- Aerochargers are made in-house, and the turbo in this kit it is carefully purpose-built for use on a Ski-Doo sled.

Also, the Aerocharger compressor cover has been reworked to shave off unneeded weight for this season.

Clutch Helix and Ramps

Close up on the custom clutch parts we had developed for this season.

And here's the full clutch package.

Snow to Air Intercooler

And here's a rear view, already installed. The intercooler brackets are now shipping with pre-fitted edge seals for a clean and tight install.

This is a close-up of the collars for our airboxes and Air to Snow Intercoolers that we are making this season - we deleted some metal for a lighter kit... looks a bit nicer, too.

Fuel Rails

The fuel rail was also updated for weight savings. Here's a shot of it next to our previous fuel rail for comparison.

Stinger Kit

Parts and instructions are included to modify the stock pipe with an Aerocharger stinger. This pipe is larger in diameter and improves exhaust flow for better performance. Will require cutting and welding the stock pipe. It's totally optional, but should be a huge convenience if this was something you were planning on having done.

Exhaust

One of the nicest looking mufflers out there, IMO. Stainless steel for durability, and ceramic coated to look like an OE part.

Vents and Footwell Seals

Also in the box are vents and a footwell seal kit. Both of these come with full templates and instructions to streamline the install, and will seal your sled up tight for best performance.

So that's some of the highlights of this year's kit, for your viewing pleasure.

So does the snow get pushed "up" into the snow/air unit? Just curious with the speed and direction of the air and snow moving "forward", if the air pressure in the area pushes the snow upwards.

Do you have any before and after intake temps?

The track produces 1.5 to 2 pounds of pressure on that upper section of the tunnel, as measured by our engineers. The intercooler gets installed in a position where it gets the full effect of that pressure, and all the snow and ice that gets carried with it. It's a neat effect, here's a view from underneath :D

This is the same IC that we use in our race program, and the feedback we got from the backcountry guys reinforced that it's very effective at cutting heat soak. We'll have more detailed intake temp data for you sometime soon, but we did some testing toward the end of the season last year - on crappy late spring snow, we were getting 65% thermal efficiency from it and weren't able to detect any measurable pressure drop that would erode HP.

I swore off turbos because of reliability issues but you guys are making it hard for me to not own one!!! I just did a big bore kit and haven't even rode it yet and now I'm wanting one of these!!! Any ways looks like a nice set up! Very professional

Nice work. Now you just need a cold air intake. Thinking of this kit with Boondockers electronic boost control/fueling would be the way to go.

Just switched over from a boondocker cat.
Was gonna keep the doo stock but am doubting that's gonna happen.
What is the install time on these kits and what boost can I run on 100 octane.
Thanks ryan

Haha yeah stepping back to stock might be tough, let us know if we can help you out there. Install time varies - someone who's done an install like this before might be able to knock it out in half a day. Anyone who hasn't should give themselves a weekend, no need to rush through it. 100 Octane will let you do 5psi at sea level, and 7 psi in the mountains (5000+ feet). We have a Ski-Doo turbo octane guide on our website to help you figure out the right fuel to run.

Did you change the fuel contoller on these kits from a last years kits. Or is any thing else changed alot that would be reallly recommended on the 13 kit to upgrade.

The '13-'14 Aerocommander has been modified for durability, and the map was improved for synchronous injection for smoother throttle. Last year's boxes worked great for the most part, and you'll probably be happy with the version you've got. But if you're having any problems with it or just want to upgrade, give us a call.

Are you running a stock pipe and reeds. On the last doo turbo I had....I was constantly splitting the pipe and shattering the reeds.

What year was your last doo turbo? In 2013, Ski-Doo began fully-welding their pipes, so shouldn't be an issue anymore. Also, we've been including turbo reeds from BRP in our kits for a few seasons now to address reed durability.

Fresh air intake for aerocharger xm etec

When is Aerocharger going to offer an fresh air intake for xm etec?

Is 8lbs of boost on an aerocharger the highest you can go with stock fuel controller?

Are the new fuel controllers working? Have not heard any feedback if guys are liking them.
