aem wideband

I am installing an aem wideband on an mcx apex. Aem states that the sensor should be installed after the turbo to avoid faulty readings due to pressure differentials. Mcx supplies a boss of proper size before the turbo, it would be nice to use this instead of welding in a boss. Has any one plumbed one in the location mcx provides. I am installing the wideband just for peace of mind and want to make sure it will be accurate.
Thanks

It will work fine. But to be honest, you dont need one on a mcx, theres no buttons to be pushed on the fuel box so why bother, i had one for 2 rides and sold it.

I found it really handy for trouble shooting when problems arise....hate to have a injector stop firing due to a broken wire and be lean at wot........I watch my a/f quite regularly....it's like pyros.....don't need them if jetted corect, but was sure nice to know if it had a problem before the sqeak..........but your right there isn't much tuning the mapping besides the bottom end CO adj......I have mine before the turbo and works fine...

Thanks guy's, i realize there is no fuel adjustment available or required with the mcx kit. But it's like TurBlue said, it can be a great tool for troubleshooting if needed.

When AEM is saying to mount the sensor after the turbo they dont expect it to be on a rear mount turbo. The reason they say to place it 36" (or what ever it is) after the turbo is because when used in most automotive applications if place before the turbo the sensor wouldn't last due to the heat and depending on the type of manifold you might not get a air/fuel reading from all the cylinders.

Your turbo could get damaged if mounted before the turbo ,if the sensercomes apart.

there is lots of thing that could come apart and cause damage....don't really think that relevant......plus on a rear mount thats the only place it will work for you.......I have heard people installing it downstream of the turbo....but in that short/packed pipe it won't work very well........
